Oracle was working without issue and suddenly this issue is arose. Oracle version is 10g express. I just wonder if this issue can be happened when DBF file size is over 10G. I added another datafile to the tablespace last week. I wonder if express version can not add more datafiles. Could you please tell me what would be issue ? If you want to get around that limitation you'll either need to buy something, such as personal edition, or upgrade to 11g express edition. –Jon Heller Aug 5 '13 at 6:20 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote "I just wonder if this issue can be happened when DBF file size is over 10G." Oracle XE is free but comes with various restrictions. In 10g the limit on User Data was 4GB (citation) , although I would expect that limit to be enforced gracefully. Does that total cover all datafiles i.e. including Undo and Temporary tablespaces? "I added another datafile to the tablespace last week." When you added that additional file did you breach that 4GB User Data limit? Note that in 11g the User Data limit was raised to 11GB, so that would be a good reason for you to upgrade. Check it out. Anyway, ORA-00600 is Oracle's generic message which it throws whenever it encounters unexpected behaviour, i.e. an internal bug. The usual advice for this is to contact Oracle Support but most XE users don't have Support contracts. In which case there is the Oracle TechNet forums, which include a site dedicated to XE issues. Find it here.

Parnassusdata Software Database Recovery Team Service Hotline: +86 13764045638 E-mail: service@parnassusdata.com Hi! Our Oracle Database often crashed. I looked into the alert log and found that it suffered an error as the title. And I internal error searched the error in the community and got a step-by-step way to fix it. At the 5th step, the status is not 'OFFLINE','PARTLY AVAILABLE' or 'NEEDS RECOVERY', but 'ONLINE'. Please help! Thank you! SYMPTOMS The following error is occurring in the alert.log right before the database crashes. ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [4194], [#], internal error code [#], [], [], [], [], [] This error indicates that a mismatch has been detected between redo records and rollback (undo) records. ARGUMENTS: Arg [a] - Maximum Undo record number in Undo block Arg [b] - Undo record number from Redo block Since we are adding a new undo record to our undo block, we would expect that the new record number is equal to the maximum record number in the undo block plus one. Before Oracle can add a new undo record to the undo block it validates that this is correct. If this validation fails, then an ORA-600 [4194] will be triggered. CHANGES This issue generally occurs when there is a power outage or hardware failure that initially crashes the database. On startup, the database does the normal roll forward (redo) and then rollback (undo), this is where the error is generated on the rollback. CAUSE This also can be cause by the following defect Bug 8240762 Abstract: Undo corruptions with O
