This column explains what you can do ora-00600 kcratr_nab_less_than_odr to assess some ORA-600 or ORA-7445 errors and identify solutions. ORA-600 or ORA-7445: What Is the Difference? ORA-600 is a catchall message that indicates an error internal to the database code. The key point to note about an ORA-600 error is that it is signaled when a code check fails within the database. At points throughout the code, Oracle Database performs checks to confirm that the information being used in internal processing is healthy, that the variables being used are within a valid range, that changes are being made to a consistent structure, and that a change won’t put a structure into an unstable state. If a check fails, Oracle Database signals an ORA-600 error and, if necessary, terminates the operation to protect the health of the database. The first argument to the ORA-600 error message indicates the location in the code where the check is performed; in the example above, that is ktfbtgex-7 (which indicates that the error occurred at a particular point during tablespace handling). The subsequent arguments have different meanings, depending on the particular check. An ORA-7445 error, o

log? While the ORA-600 error is "captured" as a handled exception in the Oracle ora 00600 internal error code arguments kdsgrp1 source code, the ORA-7445 is an unhandled exception error due to an OS exception which should result in the creation of ora-07445 access_violation a core file. An ORA-7445 is a generic error, and can occur from anywhere in the Oracle code. The precise location of the error is identified by the core file and/or trace file it produces.Looking http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2011/11-sep/o51support-453463.html for the best way to diagnose? Whenever an ORA-7445 error is raised a core file is generated. There may be a trace file generated with the error as well. Prior to 11g, the core files are located in the CORE_DUMP_DEST directory. Starting with 11g, there is a new advanced fault diagnosability infrastructure to manage trace data. Diagnostic files are written into a root directory for all diagnostic data called the https://blogs.oracle.com/db/entry/ora-7445_troubleshooting ADR home. Core files at 11g will go to the ADR HOME/cdump directory. Check the Alert LogThe alert log may indicate additional errors or other internal errors at the time of the problem. In some cases, the ORA-7445 error will occur along with ORA-600, ORA-3113, ORA-4030 errors. The ORA-7445 error can be side effects of the other problems and you should review the first error and associated core file or trace file and work down the list of errors. & Presentations Scripts Tools Others Public Appearances Contact About Search Fast lane to ORA-00600 service requests There are several way's to find information on internal oracle errors like ORA-00600 and ORA-07445. Looking up google is one of them, but not in any case the best one. If you are using Oracle Metalink you may just search for the ORA-00600 and the error code of first argument or use the ORA-600/ORA-7445/ORA-700 Error Look-up Tool [153788.1], which is available since several years. But sometimes you do not get the expected results and you have to open an Oracle service request to get more information, bug fix, workaround, justification that you really haft this issue, etc. It is then a bit cumbersome to add all kind of information and upload files to create the SR. Since a while Oracle provides simple troubleshooting tools in My Oracle Support. Rather than searching for the error you just have to upload the IPS package created with Oracle adrci. Based on the information in the IPS package, Oracle suggests possible causes / solutions. Optional one has the possibility to open an SR based directly on the IPS package. The troubleshooting tool can directly be accessed ORA-00600 or will be opened if you add ORA-00600 in the error message field when creating an SR. At the end your problem and you SR is probably not solved faster, but at least it is a bit easier to open an SR. 🙂 Similar troubleshooting tools are also available for ORA-07445, ORA-04030 and ORA-04031 Build the Package Start ADRCI and set the proper ADR home oracle@urania:~/[TDB01] adrci ADRCI: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Mon Jun 3 10:54:39 2013 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates.
