ulconnect: OCIServerAttach [0] [message #69603 is a reply to message #69237] Wed, 06 February 2002 11:21 Thomas Zezulka Messages: 1Registered: February 2002 Junior Member Wally, I was having the same problem when my machine crashed and I had to put on Oracle8si. The problem is Oracle8si no longer will look directly at your database sid name so you sql*loader-704: internal error: ulconnect: ociserverattach [0] ora-12541: tns:no listener can't use it in the sql loader command line. You have to create a local service name calling your database. So what you call in the command line is the name of your local service name. Let me know if you need more help. Thanks, Thomas Report message to a moderator Re: SQL*Loader-704: Internal error: ulconnect: OCIServerAttach [0] [message #70162 is a reply to message #69237] Tue, 23 April 2002 08:08 Anurag Garg Messages: 1Registered: April 2002 Junior Member Try using this command sqlldr username/password@service control='controlfile.ctl' log='logfile.log' make sure that ur .dat file is in the path. We have a need to logon to Oracle Server using mixed cased usernames. This worked http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/25048/ fine with SQL*Plus using escaped double quotes on both Windows and Unix operating systems: sqlplus \"MyUserName\"/MyPwd@MyServerName But no such luck with SQL*Loader. The following showed different error messages with different attempts: 1) When double quotes were escaped then the first parameter becomes multi-valued: sqlldr \"MyUserName\"/MyPwd@MyServerName control=MyLocalDataFile.ctl LRM-00112: multiple https://asktom.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:9522539800346942932 values not allowed for parameter 'control' sqlldr userid=\"MyUserName\"/MyPwd@MyServerName then at the prompt of control file enter the control file name LRM-00112: multiple values not allowed for parameter 'userid' 2) Double quote the entire username/pwd@instanceName: sqlldr \"MyUserName/MyPwd@MyServerName\" control=MyLocalDataFile.ctl SQL*Loader-128: unable to begin a session ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied 3) Taking out the escape backslash: sqlldr userid="MyUserName"/MyPwd@MyServerName SQL*Loader-128: unable to begin a session ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied In one user forum I read that SQL*Loader unlike SQL*Plus, it requires single quote instead of double quote for control file path, so I thought I would try the username in single quotes; 4) sqlldr \'MyUserName\'/MyPwd@MyServerName control=MyLocalDataFile.ctl LRM-00112: multiple values not allowed for parameter 'control' sqlldr 'MyUserName'/MyPwd@MyServerName control=MyLocalDataFile.ctl SQL*Loader-128: unable to begin a session ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied sqlldr 'MyUserName/MyPwd@MyServerName' control=MyLocalDataFile.ctl SQL*Loader-128: unable to begin a session ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied sqlldr \'MyU

I created a control file, a data file . Then I invoked sql loader from cmd as sqlldr control=sa.ctl log=sa.log It gives the following error : sql *loader -704 : Internal error : ulconnect :OCIServerAttach[0] ORA-12154 : TNS :Could not resolve the connect identifier ORA -12560 :TNS : Protocol internal error adapter error specified. I tried different combinations like giving the full path of ctl and log files;placing the control and data files in different places .It didnot work. Mine is local machine.I didnot install apps myself.I googled the error and it says that there is some problem with tnsnames.ora I find that the host is defined there. And besides my sql *plus, toad and the application are running fine. It's only sql loader that gives 704 internal error this error. This is my first time.Plz Help here's how tnsnames.ora looks like in my machine : # TNSNAMES.ORA Network Configuration File: D:\jdevolper\network\admin\tnsnames.ora # Generated by Oracle configuration tools. I don't see any login information in your command line; it should look like this: sqlldr user/pass@db control=sa.ctl log=sa.log If you don't specify such information the default is the ORCL instance and you do not have any database of that name running. zargon, Feb 14, 2012 #2 robin Forum Advisor Messages: 55 Likes Received: 7 Trophy Points: 160 Location: Hyderabad zargon said: ↑ sqlldr user/pass@db control=sa.ctl log=sa.log Click to expand...
