My understanding is that the book function is used for really large documents. At the risk of making a stupid suggestion - if your individual files are not too big, can you combine them into one for the sake of the printing? ORMake each PM file into a PDF, and assuming you have access to the full Acrobat, combine the PDFs?? (Go to 'Insert pages' in Acrobat). And then print from that? On the outside possibility that a bad graphic is causing it, shrink the PM window up as small http://comp.graphics.apps.pagemaker.narkive.com/OOzNkW4z/internal-error-bad-table-index as you can go and then try opening the file. In general, this error indicates that your file is toast. Bob Top INTERNAL ERROR - BAD TABLE INDEX **** HELP**** by Craig McWalte » Fri, 23 internal error Apr 2004 22:06:22 Yep, that worked for me once. Shrink PM's window until all you see is the menu bar ( no part of the document or pasteboard )showing, then do the following (from PM help): To run diagnostics on a publication: 1 In a copy of the publication, click the pointer tool. 2 Press Ctrl + Shift and choose Type > Hyphenation. 3 Listen for the computer system to beep: . One beep indicates that recomposition internal error bad was successful and PageMaker found no repairs to make. . Two beeps indicate that PageMaker repaired one or more minor problems. . Three beeps indicate that PageMaker found a problem it could not correct, or could not complete the diagnostics due to insufficient memory. 4 Choose File > Save As to rewrite the publication. This ensures that the corrections are stored in the publication. But as Bob said, it usually is an unrepairable file. Craig Quote:> Unfortunately, that is about the worst error you can possibly get. PageMaker - especially 6.0 and 6.5 aresensitive to this.DavidDavid,You're close, but not quite right. The key is that you can edit stylesas long as you do NOT have the text tool active. However, this problem is fixed in 7.0 (I believe thanks to my passing onmy diagnosis to the PM product manager at a Seybold show, although I wasnever given credit for it).Dick 3 Replies 7 Views Switch to linear view Disable enhanced parsing Permalink to this page Thread Navigation claudio 2003-12-17 13:35:32 UTC Dick Margulis 2003-12-17 22:30:35 UTC Dave 2003-12-18 05:57:01 UTC Dick Margulis 2003-12-18 12:01:13 UTC about - legalese Loading...
