New Kodak Camera will not format Memory Card - error Discussion in 'Digital Photography & Imaging' started by guacman, Sep 13, 2005. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement guacman Thread Starter Joined: Dec 7, 2001 Messages: 47 I just bought 2 new Sandisk 128MB SD cards, 1 for each of my 2 Kodak Cameras. They both work in the older Kodak DX4330 without a hitch. When I insert either card into the Kodak C310 (New camera), it says the empty card's memory is full. I try to format the card from the C310 and it says formatting... and then gives a filesys error e00100. It doesn't format it. I dont have a card reader to http://www.fixya.com/search/p261890-kodak_easyshare_c330_digital_camera/e00100 try and have the computer format it, but I'm not sure that will work either. I formatted one of the cards with the DX4330 and tried it in the C310, and it still has the same problem. Could there be a problem with the new camera? Could the new camera be incompatible with the Sandisk Memory cards? I am leary of purchasing a Kodak brand card, simply because they are a little more expensive and I'm not sure if it will solve the problem. guacman, Sep https://forums.techguy.org/threads/new-kodak-camera-will-not-format-memory-card-error.398611/ 13, 2005 #1 Sponsor etaf Wayne Moderator Joined: Oct 2, 2003 Messages: 60,957 They both work in the older Kodak DX4330 without a hitch. & as I wanted to take few wee videos decided to use the a 4 GB, but states 'Memory card Full' ( was brand new ) I tried http://nzgeek.org/topic/18631/kodak-memory-card-help to format it but says ' 'filesystem error e00100' I then tried 2GB, but same thing. I tried them out in 2 other cameras, a Samsung 7MP & Canon PowerShot A460 & they are OK there. Appreciate some info. Ta :) geek_missrat, Jan 29, 7:43 pm Because the camera was not designed to support it. the canon a460 supports SDHC up to at least 8 since thats what I run in mine. kodak easyshare Old camera - new card. geek_richms, Jan 29, 8:08 pm Thanks for reply, but previous to asking on here I did a Google search & noticed few times at least 2GB was being offered to use with my camera, a Kodak C330, which is why I found it puzzling as to why I was having a problem. But maybe you know more tan me, so I may have to get new camera instead kodak easyshare c330 it seems. Cheers :) geek_missrat, Jan 29, 8:34 pm Check.. the cards you are using. There is a difference between standard SD cards and the high capacity cards (SDHC). SDHC cards will not work in older cameras designed for SD cards. geek_gbbrot, Jan 29, 9:02 pm Yes they are SD. Camera also not so old, had about 3 years. geek_missrat, Jan 29, 9:23 pm Anything over 6 months....Is OLD for a camera!!! They keep changing every day!!! geek_guyh, Jan 30, 1:28 pm It should do 2 gig SDs. Some need it formatted FAT not FAT32 - check what it is formatted as in windows, or else format it on the camera. If it wont even format the card then its probably just an incompatibility. I had a bit of bother when using some 2 gig microsd's in an adapter in an old camera - some just wouldnt work even tho they worked in everything else. geek_richms, Jan 30, 3:38 pm OK :) Thanks for info, looks like its a no go for this one. As have tried formatting. OK in in my other much older Camera. geek_missrat, Jan 30, 3:53 pm Sure of the model number? Kodak say the 330 only takes upto 256MB geek_soodanim, Jan 30, 4:12 pm Since the public registrations are closed, yo
