I'm not an expert on digital cameras but wondered why you wanted to reformat the card? I have a digital camera (fujifilm e550) and have never had to reformat the card. I did a quick google search and came up with a few answers. One of the search results is quoted and linked below. Doesn't sound like good news. You may have a damaged card installed in the camera. Either try another card, or try to reformat the card. If you have an external card reader (external to your PC) then try to put the card into that device and see if your computer can recognize the card --> if you have images on there, you may be able to recover them. GERTRUDE19 Member Messages: 5 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 0 I've never used a memory card before, i always used a Kodak printer, but they've gone out of circulation so i got a SD 2GB memory card http://forum.digitalcamerareview.com/threads/camera-is-kodak-c530.38202/ and tried it but it keeps coming up "memory card needs formatting" and then and then "Filesy's error e00100" what does that mean GERTRUDE19, Sep 2, 2011 #1 Andy Stanton Super Moderator Super Moderator Messages: 11,289 Likes Received: 48 Trophy Points: 48 Formatting means preparing the card so your camera can use it. Have you tried formatting the memory card in the camera? There should be a setting for formatting in the camera's menu. kodak easyshare Andy Stanton, Sep 2, 2011 #2 GERTRUDE19 Member Messages: 5 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 0 Can you tell me if SD 2GB is the right memory card for this camera, I couldn't find anything about formatting on the menu. I have the camera quite a few years and the directions are all lost a long time since. sorry to be a bother but I am 70 years old and not the quickest brain on kodak easyshare c310 here, many thanks. GERTRUDE19, Sep 3, 2011 #3 Andy Stanton Super Moderator Super Moderator Messages: 11,289 Likes Received: 48 Trophy Points: 48 Your 2GB SD card should be fine. Your camera has a menu setting called "setup". The icon looks like three parallel horizontal lines. Highlight setup and press the OK button. You will see various settings, one of which is format. Highlight format and press OK. You will see three options - memory card, cancel and internal memory. Highlight memory card and press OK. This will format your memory card and get it ready for use in your camera. Here's a link to the manual for your camera: http://resources.kodak.com/support/pdf/en/manuals/urg00483/C530_C315_CD50_GLB_en.pdf Andy Stanton, Sep 3, 2011 #4 GERTRUDE19 Member Messages: 5 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 0 did exactly as you said and filesys error e00100 keeps coming up, sorry. GERTRUDE19, Sep 3, 2011 #5 Andy Stanton Super Moderator Super Moderator Messages: 11,289 Likes Received: 48 Trophy Points: 48 I found out the answer. Your camera will not work with 2GB memory cards - 1GB is the maximum capacity. Andy Stanton, Sep 3, 2011 #6 GERTRUDE19 Member Messages: 5 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 0 thank you so much, will try that and let you know, once again thanks for your trouble much obliged.
