Windows 7: Startup error "RunDLL" There was a problem... sysmenu.dll 05 Aug 2014 #1 Hujorgen Win7 Pro 64 Dual boot kodak easyshare with Win7 Pro 64 14 posts Startup error "RunDLL" There was a problem... sysmenu.dll Hello, Customer Toshiba Laptop, Win7 Home Pre, lots of add ons, toolbars, PCFix Speed, Reg Optimizer Pro, etc. Removed with REVO, Cleaned up startup with CCleaner, and MSCONFIG. Ran Malwarebytes and MWAV (Microworld stand alone anti-virus tool.) Reset all 3 browsers (IE11, Chrome, kodak easyshare rundll Firefox30) Reboot. All of the browsers open up to w w w-search .net > Tuvaro. Verified proxy in internet settings was clear and set to "automatically detect" and also without auto detect. (Proxy was set to 55150?) Reset each browser homepage but still goes to w w w-search .net. Ran Combo-Fix 2x and the internet browser problem is fixed. Now whenever the system boots up it shows two separate error messages box with RunDLL in the upper left corner and states "There was a problem starting C:\Progra~!\common~1\System\Sysmenu.dll" The Specified module could not be found." C:\Program Files\Common Files\System - no Sysmenu.dll here C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System - no Sysmenu.dll here I have re-run Malwarebytes and it did not find anything. Looking in MSCONFIG and the startup section in CCleaner I do not see any item pointing to either of the locations - C:\Program Files\Common Files\System - in either program. Is there any other load point that could be calling for this? Attached Images My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build for Vide
geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 2:25 pm . . . pretend we are blind, tell us what you see. geek_0800xford, Oct 2, 2:30 pm run ccleaner it's pretty good at fixing errors like that (registry entries pointing to files you don't have. . ) geek_little_egypt, Oct 2, 2:32 pm hahaha #2 hmmmm I see nothing #3 tried all that stuff, I even did the regedit thing found something kodak so got rid of that, and thought yay, but nope still there. geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 2:36 pm . . . "I even did the regedit thing found something kodak so got rid of that" oh, my, god geek_0800xford, Oct 2, 2:42 pm oh my god what geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 2:44 pm start/run type in msconfig tap enter then UNtick any kodak crap in the startup list. . . . . . geek_drcspy, Oct 2, 2:46 pm . . . dude, you randomly removed stuff from your registry = amateur brain surgery :s geek_0800xford, Oct 2, 2:46 pm thanks #7 I have already done that too still its there at start up (the runDLL error) ah well, thanks though, might just have to leave it there for now geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 2:56 pm 0880xford it was just Kodak stuff, I have uninstalled the complete Kodak program from my computer I don't need it on there), so deleting anything else kodak easyshare I find won't matter will it? ? ? ? geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 2:58 pm . . . i'd install it again, make sure it all works. then uninstall it cleanly and leave the registry alone, bar running ccleaner. geek_0800xford, Oct 2, 3:00 pm ok thanks 08800xford will do geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 3:03 pm I had the same prob with friends computr & #7. . . . . has the right idea. Only thing was, the name that I had to uncheck from the start up menu wasn't actualy Kodak. (tho it was the Kodak program causing the problem)It was continually trying to update '(something). . . . viewer'. You need to identify the exact name of the error & then look at all of the stuff on your startup menu. Most people have far too many un necassary programs on start up anyway. geek_missy_chester, Oct 2, 8:11 pm I had the same message coming up as well so I googled it and found a page that told me how to get rid of it and it was very simple to do and I haven't had the message for over a week. geek_randomleigh, Oct 2, 8:45 pm installing the kodak program and uninstalling it didn't work either, randomleigh don't suppose you remember the exact thing you done to get rid of it completely TIA geek_dragontales, Oct 2, 10:04 pm . .
