A big thank you to the folks that helped me fix it. Where I live there is no place that fixes these camera. I had a really great repair experience fixing it with this particular place, they just specialize in the Canon Powershot cameras only and they fixed the thing perfectly! I wanted to share my experience with others as I know I am not the only one to have to deal with this lens error problem. Check the space around the lens and see if the spacing is equal distance all the way around. Sometimes you can use a vacuum cleaner and apply vacuum suction on the lens while powering it on. this may remove some of the dirt/debris and free the mechanism. If none of that works, you may have to replace the lens. The guide for that is here. Hope this helps, good luck.
