solve this problem? Answer this question I have this problem too Subscribed to new answers Is this a good question? Yes No Voted Undo Score 8 Cancel Comments: I'm also experiencing this error message, however... • the camera turns on, • the lens extends outwards, • the lens contracts inwards, • the camera turns off... I did notice the superficial disfigurement that is on the outer shell of the lens, but this shouldn't cause this error as how to restart a canon camera on occasions, the camera turns on, the lens extends outwards, and I can snap a few pictures, unless I aim the camera in any direction other than straight ahead - if not straight ahead, the lens contracts inwards & camera turns off. 12/10/2015 by Frae Guile Add a comment 0/1024 Cancel Post comment Are you sure you want to delete this zzzzzz? Normally this is a problem with the lens extension mechanism that is activated when the camera starts. This can normally be attributed to a dirty camera case or other grit getting into the camera mechanism. Other possible sources are physical jarring during operation or low battery during operation. The fist thing you should do is remove the existing batteries and the memory card from the camera, wait one minute and then put the batteries and the memory card back again into their compartment. Next, turn the camera on. Another possible solution is to blow compressed air around the lens mechanism, or a hair dryer on a no heat setting. Also, you can slide a piece of paper around the lens area and move it around the gaps in an effort to dislodge anything stuck in there. Was this answer hel

Canon Powershot Sx120 Is Troubleshooting
4:56 pmRobertI have a Canon Powershot S110. It briefly took a swim in my pocket restart camera apk download when I fell into a jungle river in Malaysia and of course refused to work. I removed the battery and memory card and dried it off in the sun and watched with horror as beads of moisture came out of the USB sockets. It thought it was damaged beyond repair. When I was back in civilisation I recharged the battery but https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/170418/My+camera+is+showing+%22lens+error-restart+camera%22,+how+do+I+fix+it still no luck and then spontaneously the lens barrel shot open when I wasn't expecting it to do so and I had my hand in the way. It briefly registered a lens error message and then went blank again with the lens barrel extended. Recharging the battery made no difference so my first thought was that the battery was damaged so when I got back to the UK I ordered and installed a new battery. I got http://www.e18error.com/posts/ the dreaded lens error message saying that the camera would shut down which it didn't. I tried the various low level fixes and eventually gently compressed the barrel to try and even out the extension. Bingo it suddenly started behaving although it was still convinced that the memory card was faulty even when I gave it a new one until I took out the battery and the memory card and put them both back in and now it seems to be absolutely fine. I guess I may have shortened the camera's lifespan both from the original bath and fiddling around with the barrel but at 2 years old it was too old for the guarantee and too new to get rid of. Secondly if you have an odd fault like E16 buy the service manual it only costs $4 online download. The E18 fault had the lens stuck. I stripped down the camera and then the lens. I am still struggling to get the lens together even with photos lines drawn across the parts etc. Not easy at all but it beats the rubiks cube for entertainment value. The ribbons can be sourced on ebay from chi

For that camera that died, here are some non-intrusive simple fixes that you should try before throwing in the towel. Copied this first post from somewhere. It was a fix for a Canon A520, but am not sure if it would work for other cameras with the same problem? For those of you with a camera that will not power up or turn on, especially if this occurred after a power interruption with your lens extended, please give it a try. If you do, please leave a comment on specifics like your camera make/model, and whether it worked for you or not."DEAD CAMERA, LENS OPEN-If the batteries run down completely while the camera is still open, it may not start up again when new batteries are installed. But if you remove the memory card, then install the new batteries, when you turn it on it should come back to life. Error E30 means you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time." OK, so the above didn't work. Next thing to look at are the batteries themselves. Are you using alkaline batteries, or worse yet those "Super Heavy Duty" batteries? If so, betcha we've just discovered your problem. Alkaline and regular "super heavy duty" batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. It doesn't matter if they're new, and right out of the package. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries (if you still have your instruction manual, open it to the "batteries" section. Pretty sure you'll see a statement similar to what I've just said). Most retailers sell NiMH batteries for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You
