Place it on the back with the lens facing up and take a look at the spacing between the lens and the lens housing. If you notice that the gap is not even all the way around the lens, the problem should be easy to fix. Simply - VERY GENTLY - press down the lens on the side where the gap is the biggest. You should hear a "click" as it pops back into place. Try powering the camera back on. If the lens doesn't extend at all or it extends, and then retracts again, do the following. Turn the camera off. Geüpload op 13 nov. 2011http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007...This video provides a step-by-step description of techniques to repair the most common problem for digital cameras, the dreaded "lens error". This problem goes by many names, depending on the camera manufacturer. Some other names for this problem include for Canon Powershot and Nikon Coolpix "lens error", Sony Cybershot "access error", Kodak Easyshare "lens obstructed",and Fuji Finepix "zoom error" and "focus error". Some error messages may just show a number (e18 error). But no matter its name, the issue involves a problem with the extension of the camera's lens mechanism (or lens barrels). The lens doesn't extend properly or becomes stuck, jammed, or the lens was damaged because the camera was dropped Here's how to fix it, without even taking a screwdriver to the camera!CR Categorie Zo-doe-je-dat en stijl Licentie Stand

Answer this question I lens error have this problem too Subscribed to new answers Is this a good question? Yes No Voted Undo Score 8 Cancel Comments: I'm also experiencing this error message, however... • the camera turns on, • the lens extends outwards, • the lens contracts inwards, • the camera turns off... I did notice the superficial disfigurement that is on the outer shell of the lens, but this shouldn't cause this error as on occasions, the camera turns on, the lens extends outwards, lens error restart and I can snap a few pictures, unless I aim the camera in any direction other than straight ahead - if not straight ahead, the lens contracts inwards & camera turns off. 12/10/2015 by Frae Guile Add a comment 0/1024 Cancel Post comment Are you sure you want to delete this zzzzzz? Normally this is a problem with the lens extension mechanism that is activated when the camera starts. This can normally be attributed to a dirty camera case or other grit getting into the camera mechanism. Other possible sources are physical jarring during operation or low battery during operation. The fist thing you should do is remove the existing batteries and the memory card from the camera, wait one minute and then put the batteries and the memory card back again into their compartment. Next, turn the camera on. Another possible solution is to blow compressed air around the lens mechanism, or a hair dryer on a no heat setting. Also, you can slide a piece of paper around the lens area and move it around the gaps in an effort to dislodge anything stuck in there. Was this answer helpful?
