Gepubliceerd op 15 jul. 2013How To Fix Canon S100 Powershot Lens ErrorPowerShot S100 cameras are encountering a lens error, Canon confirmed on its Product Advisories page. A number of the high-end point-and-shoots have had issues with a "disconnected part inside the camera," which causes the optic to malfunction. Canon suggests that the issue may be connected with exposure to heat or humidity, but regardless of the cause, the company is offering free repairs, even for out-of-warranty cameras -- assuming the issue is caused by this specific part. Qualifying S100s should have a serial number that begins with any number ranging from 29 though 41.Contact Canon: http://www.canon.comPick your country and go to the "Contact Us" page for the relevant telephone number"canon lens error restart camera""canon lens error""how to fix lens error on canon camera""canon s100 lens error fix""how to fix a canon lens error" Categorie Zo-doe-je-dat en stijl Licentie Standaard Yo

About a week ago, I went on a trip, took pictures the whole trip, everything was ok. When I got home, and tried to turn the camera to move the pictures to my PC, I got an error: "Lens s100 lens error error, restart camera" The lens doesn't even start to open, doesn't make any sounds of trying even. If you don't have a card reader in your computer(s), they are available inexpensively, for example: amazon.com/Mini-Memory-Card-Reader-Writer/dp/B000FNDWLQ/… –coneslayer May 6 '11 at 13:54 2 I got this issue with my camera too, when my son dropped it in the sand. The lens mechanism retraction is very fragile. One grain of sand is enough to break the camera. In our case, we got the camera for less than a week, so we returned the camera for an exchange. –decasteljau May 6 '11 at 14:01 add a comment| 9 Answers 9 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. I have written a blo

Well done to Canon for this little gem. Much more refined than the s100. The handling of noise is great for a small sensor. The lens may not be the quickest, but the increase of ISO to compensate for low light isn't going to be a problem here. I still own a sx220hs, and even though it handles noise quite well (much better than my xz-1), the CA from the lens and the poor metering lets it down badly. This canon has coped superbly with the overcast white sky, nothing overblown or washed out. Crisp detail is shown with the brickwork and cloud cover. Again the leaf pic looks interesting because of the lack of CA.A much improved lens. Thank you Mark for including the Brixton Costa pics. For me this has become a real reference point over the last couple of months. The s110 handles the low light, high ISO and importantly captures great shadow detail without smearing everything. People, don't be to disappointed with the raw pics. Remember, these are direct from the chip and haven't been cleaned up and processed by the camera on board software, which has to really work hard with such a small sensor. I'm really looking forward to giving this one ago. Its just a shame that the battery capacity lets it down a bit. Cheers for your review.
