Canon Camera Lens Error Will Shutdown Automatically
am I getting a Lens Error? When I turn the camera on, the lens stays extended and the LCD screen displays "Lens Error/Will shut down automatically/Restart now." I've tried turning the camera off and on again but the error still displays. When the camera is off, the lens remains extended. The lens mechanism retraction is very fragile. One grain of sand is enough to break the camera. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. I have written a blog post about some things that you can do to try to correct it.
