Gepubliceerd op 15 jul. 2013How To Fix Canon S100 Powershot Lens ErrorPowerShot S100 cameras are encountering a lens error, Canon confirmed on its Product Advisories page. A number of the high-end point-and-shoots have had issues with a "disconnected part inside the camera," which causes the optic to malfunction. Canon suggests that the issue may be connected with exposure to heat or humidity, but regardless of the cause, the company is offering free repairs, even for out-of-warranty cameras -- assuming the issue is caused by this specific part. Qualifying S100s should have a serial number that begins with any number ranging from 29 though 41.Contact Canon: http://www.canon.comPick your country and go to the "Contact Us" page for the relevant telephone number"canon lens error restart camera""canon lens error""how to fix lens error on canon camera""canon s100 lens error fix""how to fix a canon lens error" Categorie Zo-doe-je-dat en stijl Licentie Standaard YouTube-licentie Meer weergeven Minder weergeven Reacties zijn uitgeschakeld voor deze video. About a week ago, I went on a trip, took pictures the whole trip, everything was ok. When I got home, and tried to turn the camera to move the pictures to my PC, I got an error: "Lens error, restart camera" The lens doesn't even start to open, doesn't make any sounds of trying even. What can I do to fix this? lens canon point-and-shoot troubleshooting lens error restart error share|improve this question edited Dec 19 '11 at 14:16 Imre 25.7k783149 asked May 6 '11 at 13:17 Yochai Timmer 138115 If the problem is keeping you from moving your photos to the PC, you can remove the SD card from the camera and use a card reader to read it. If you don't have a card reader in your computer(s), they are available inexpensively, for example: amazon.com/Mini-Memory-Card-Reader-Writer/dp/B000FNDWLQ/… –coneslayer May 6 '11 at 13:54 2 I got this issue with my camera too, when my son dropped it in the sand. The lens mechanism retraction is very fragile. One grain of sand is enough to break the camera. In our case, we got the camera for less than a week, so we returned the camera for an exchange. –decasteljau May 6 '11 at 14:01 add a comment| 9 Answers 9 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. I have written a blog post about some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 50% of lens errors, but they're worth a try. share|improve this answer edited Oct 6 '11 at 4:54 Imre 25.7k783149 answered Oct 6 '11 at 3:54 Camera Repair 541 2 Welcome to Photo.SE!
