"LensError" 12 10 2010 A friend who has a Nikon Coolpix S210 asked me to try to fix the Lens Error problem for her. This is where the lens https://amanmusthaveaproject.wordpress.com/2010/10/12/nikon-coolpix-s210-lens-error/ makes a whirring sound when turned on, but doesn't emerge. The LCD shows an error message. I read several forums including http://photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/ without success. The lens would only emerge a couple of mm and there was no http://erkinson.altervista.org/en/nikon-coolpix-s210-errore-obiettivo-sostituzione-display/ way I could get a grip on the barrel, or prise it out with a blade. I first made sure I had fully-charged batteries inserted as weak batteries can have this effect (thanks for the reminder cns949). lens error I tried applying suction with a Dyson, but this didn't work either. Tapping it on my palm had no effect. Then I decided to slip a scalpel under the lens cover and firmly pull on the lens mechanism as I turned it on. To my surprise the lens rotated slightly and came fully out. I have taken several pictures and turned it on and off and it is still working a few hours 210 lens error later. Nikon Coolpix with blade inserted It would appear that this is a very common problem with the Nikon Coolpix range and from reading various forums, many people have been very disappointed, with a Lens Error fault within hours of taking it out of the box. Some people with less patience than me have thrown their Coolpix on the floor in exasperation. This does not usually fix the problem. This is about as physical as I would get with such a small, delicate piece of equipment. Repairing with an authorised agent will cost about the same as the price of a new replacement. I would say, if you're nervous, don't buy one. Like this:Like Loading... I cleaned around the lens with a soft cloth and a small amount of flat screen TV

Giving me so (and I feel entitled to do so) unmount all the optics without the fear of not knowing how to reassemble…. A tiny and delicate mechanism. I went in my hands this Coolpix S210 and I started immediately to work. Unfortunately the machine had already been opened and was missing several screws but the "sense" What I have to show you there is everything. We say that, as for a camera, There are two common operations: the replacement screen and lens replacement (or attempt to repair in extremis). 1. Removing cover Unscrew the screws that you see on the outside and separate from the back of the machine. Slideshow: Fullscreen: 2. Display Removal You must remove only the display and not the whole metal cage that contains it (paying attention to the side keypad). The sides of the cage, In fact, are there any visible screws but one is covered from the display. Initially I was not noticed because, as I was saying, the camera had already been disassembled… Below I put a gallery with all the cables that should be removed from their slots. Are 3: One of the display, the backlight on the display panel, and the keypad. I highlighted in red the hidden screw from the display you need to remove the metal cage. Slideshow: Fullscreen: This, Instead, is an image of how you should see the camera body and the cage I was talking about having removed only the display. 3. CCD Sensor Removal Luckily the Nikon has put the connector on the circuit board from the back of the camera (Unlike the Ixus 30 the cano
