That would give you https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/287684/lens+error+restart+camera that error. Check on here for some generic instructions. It is also possible that the DC-DC converter board has failed. There is a fuse on the board that you can check to see if it has continuity. If you have a multimeter we can also check some of the other components. If you don't than the only fix for that is most likely a replacement of the board and/or a lens replacement depending on your findings. Was this answer helpful? It takes a technician a lot of work to completely disassemble the camera. Also probably the percentage of cases is high enough that it would cost them a lot of money to send out a free camera for all the e18 errors. Finally it costs Canon a lot of money to reengineer the lens drive mechanism to fix the flaw. It is easier and cheaper for them to alienate a certain percentage o
