Geüpload op 13 nov. 2011http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007...This video provides a step-by-step description of techniques to repair the most common problem for digital cameras, the dreaded "lens error". This problem goes by many names, depending on the camera manufacturer. Some other names for this problem include for Canon Powershot and Nikon Coolpix "lens error", Sony Cybershot "access error", Kodak Easyshare "lens obstructed",and Fuji Finepix "zoom error" and "focus error". Some error messages may just show a number (e18 error). But no matter its name, the issue involves a problem with the extension of the camera's lens mechanism (or lens barrels). The lens doesn't extend properly or becomes stuck, jammed, or the lens was damaged because the camera was dropped Here's how to fix it, without even taking a screwdriver to the camera!CR Categorie Zo-doe-je-dat en stijl Licentie Standaard YouTube-licentie Meer weergeven Minder weergeven Laden... Your help in sharing will be appreciated, and karma will prevail! This has to be THE most common failure mode for a digital camera, a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkEfnF6zVxc stuck lens, jammed lens, or a malfunctioning lens. Some common error messages that might show up on the LCD's of cameras with this problem include "E18 lens error" (older Canon Powershot), "ACCESS" error (Sony Cybershot), "Zoom Error" (Fuji Finepix), "Lens Obstructed" (Kodak Easyshare), "lens error, restart camera" or just "lens error" (Nikon Coolpix and some other camera makers lately are using this variation). Some cameras might show http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html nothing at all, but merely make a beeping noise as the lens goes out, then in, then the camera shuts off. Sometimes the lens won't even move. The problem is actually quite common throughout all camera brands. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended. Believe it or not, one BIG contributor to lens errors is using a camera case. Sand, gunk, case fibers, etc... accumulate at the bottom of the case. These materials love to cling to the camera by electrostatic build-up from the camera rubbing against the side of the case (especially those cases with soft fibrous intreriors). Once these materials work their way into the lens mechanism, that's all she wrote. I have many Canon's, and NEVER use a case for this very reason. Note that this problem applies to ALL cameras with telescopic lens barrel (optical) zoom. With Samsung's release of the Galaxy S4 Zoom, I'm really curious to see if this will also be a is
Cover written by: allychevalier•edited by: Rhonda Callow•updated: 6/26/2009It's a frustrating problem, and it happens more often than many photographers would like: the automatic lens cover gets http://www.brighthub.com/multimedia/photography/articles/40173.aspx stuck. This article provides a guide to fixing and preventing any issues with your digital camera's automatic lens cover. slide 1 of 3 The Cause Lens cover issues are generally caused http://www.steves-digicams.com/knowledge-center/how-tos/troubleshooting-repair/troubleshoot-a-digital-camera-that-says-lens-error-on-screen.html by some sort of shock to the camera, such as dropping it or it getting hit against a surface. It doesn't need to be with any amount of real force: lens error cameras are very delicate pieces of equipment, and a surprisingly small level is required to cause an automatic lens cover error. This will either short the lens cover, causing it to be stuck, or jamming or misplacing the guide pins of the lens cover. The other major cause is some sort of particulate getting trapped in the lens cover mechanism, lens error nikon like a grain of sand. Such small bits of dirt and so forth are everywhere, and for all the care you take of a camera, it's very easy for things to work their way into the inner mechanisms. slide 2 of 3 How to Fix a Lens Cover That's Stuck Most of the time, your automatic lens cover issue can just be solved by resetting the camera. To do so, turn off the camera completely, and then remove the batteries and memory card. Wait at least ten seconds. Afterwards, reinsert the batteries and memory card, and turn on the camera again. If that doesn't fix it, then assume that there's some sort of particulate trapped within. Using compressed air or some other air-blowing device, gently (gently!) blow room-temperature air into the cracks around the lens cover to try to dislodge the particle. Try to angle the air such that it won't just blow the particle deeper into the mechanisms, potentially causing even more issues. A low-power vacuum might work better. If that doesn't work, try sliding a thin strip o
of the most common failure modes for digital cameras. You may get a message on your LCD screen that states "E18 Error" or "Lens Error, Restart Camera." Depending on the make and model of your digital camera, the camera may beep as the lens goes in and out, or the lens may not even move at all. The most common culprit for a lens error is some kind of obstruction that is interfering with the lens extension mechanism. If you dropped your digital camera with the lens extended, a lens error message may also appear on your screen. Here are some troubleshooting tips for when this occurs: Cleaning If there is any dirt, sand, grit, etc. stuck around the lens barrel, it will be very difficult for the camera lens to extend. Using a microfiber cloth, you can clean the camera lens and try to clean around the lens and in the barrel. You can also try using compressed air to forcibly blow out any obstructions that are located around the lens barrel. If you choose this method, you must ensure that none of the compressed air touches the lens itself, as the pressure of the compressed air may damage your lens. Batteries Remove the batteries from your digital camera and wait a few minutes. Place brand new batteries in the digital camera and turn it on. If you still get an error message, turn the digital camera off and turn it back on while holding the function or OK button. If that doesn't work, remove the memory card and keep it removed for a few minutes. Make sure that you have brand new batteries in the camera. When you turn the camera back on, you will most likely receive an error message due to the memory card being removed. That is okay, as sometimes the error message from not having a memory card loaded will trigger a reset. To see if this has worked, place the memory card back into the digital camera and power it on again. Audio/Video Cables When you purchased your digital camera, an audio/video (AV) cable should have came with the camera. Take that cable and plug
