Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from Sony who charge $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this. Please rate our help++++Thanks for using FIXYA Posted on Oct 10, 2009 Helpful 3 Not Helpful Comment Flag You can't post conmments that contain an email address. × Comment Anonymously Video Images arelpro Level 1: An expert who has achieved level 1. 102 - Kodak EasyShare C140 Digital Camera Answers : HelloThe problem is that the lens http://www.lionebra.com/kodak_easyshare_c140_digital_camera/q3753859-mend_lens_error_102 has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the \015\012probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.Use\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012 these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.Firstly ,\015\012 try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.Try holding the \015\012shutter button while switching on lens error the camera.Look at the lens , \015\012and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then \015\012try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).Try gently \015\012pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may \015\012cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.Another\015\012 way to do lens error 102 this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and \015\012then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to\015\012 not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and \015\012down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the \015\012camera is enough to get things going again.Try hitting your \015\012camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of \015\012your hand.Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair \015\012center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to \015\012replace the camera. If it is still under warranty I would suggest\015\012 you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any \015\012off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about\015\012 warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories. You can also have a look at THIS link.Hope\015\012 \015\012the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to le
