Nikon Coolpix S3000 Lens Error
ÜBERSETZER Saturday, December 22, 2007 Fixing a Lens Error (Stuck or Jammed
Nikon Coolpix Factory Reset
Lens) on a Digital Camera (Last Update: 13 February, 2014) If this information helps you, please pay it forward, nikon coolpix s4000 lens error and share this article with others who may be experiencing the same problem. Your help in sharing will be appreciated, and karma will prevail! This has to be THE most common https://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/15978/~/lens-error-message failure mode for a digital camera, a stuck lens, jammed lens, or a malfunctioning lens. Some common error messages that might show up on the LCD's of cameras with this problem include "E18 lens error" (older Canon Powershot), "ACCESS" error (Sony Cybershot), "Zoom Error" (Fuji Finepix), "Lens Obstructed" (Kodak Easyshare), "lens error, restart camera" or just "lens error" (Nikon Coolpix and some other http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html camera makers lately are using this variation). Some cameras might show nothing at all, but merely make a beeping noise as the lens goes out, then in, then the camera shuts off. Sometimes the lens won't even move. The problem is actually quite common throughout all camera brands. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended. Believe it or not, one BIG contributor to lens errors is using a camera case. Sand, gunk, case fibers, etc... accumulate at the bottom of the case. These materials love to cling to the camera by electrostatic build-up from the camera rubbing against the side of the case (especially those cases with soft fibrous intreriors). Once these materials work their way into the lens mechanism, that's all she wrote. I have many Canon's, and NEVER use a case for this very reason. Note that this problem applies to ALL cameras with telescopic lens barrel

Sep 23, 2013 I recently had the message come https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52213060 up saying "Lens Error. Contact a Nikon-authorized service center". I have read online and realize now that this is not an uncommon error. It sucks since I have never dropped it or anything. Anyway the camera is https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/123508/Lens+stays+open+lens+error useless with this error coming up and I am not sure what my best bet is to get it fixed. I bought the camera about a year ago from a retailer as an open box display lens error model. I paid cash and no longer have a receipt. When I go to Nikon online it appears that proof of purchase is required to register and get service based on that registration. Does anybody have any experience with Nikon that makes them feel otherwise? I took it to a local repair shop and the guy said he thought it was an issue with the camera. Specifically he thought it was with the contacts lens error nikon where the lens connected with the camera. I feel like he is full of it and that there is something that came loose in the lens. If I strike out with Nikon I am thinking about taking the lens apart. When I rotate the lens with the camera on it zooms properly and then it gets to a point and "shifts" which is when the message comes up. Any thoughts on opening up the lens to try to fix this myself? Thanks for any advice. I enjoyed using the camera and was learning more about how to use it but am bummed about it breaking so easily.
