HelloCustomer My name isXXXXX to JustanswerI would like to help you resolve your problem for you.Usually this error comes because of the barrel on the lens, Either having abit of grit inside the barrel or mis-alignment of the barrel. Here is a list of Trouble-shooting steps for you to try out, 1 by 1. please..Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few nikon coolpix l840 lens error minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. Fix #2: Remove the batteries, then remove the memory card. Then install the new batteries, when you turn it on it should come back to life. Error E30 means you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the memory card and turn it on one last time.Fix #3: Insert the cameras Audio/Video (AV) cable, and turn the camera on. Inserting this cable ensures that the camera's LCD screen remains off during the start process. Thus extra battery power is available to the camera's lens motor during startup. This extra power can be useful in overcoming grit or sand particals that may be jamming the lens. If the AV cable doesn't fix the lens error by itself, consider keeping this cable installed while trying fixes 4, 5, as a means to provide extra help to these fixes. Fix #4: Place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to autofocus while the lens is extending, hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins in their slots.Fix #5: Blow " canned ", compressed air in the
almost a year now, and I've been very happy with it. But lately I've been getting a 'Lens Error' every now and then, and it seems to be happening more and more frequently. It happens just when camera lens won't retract I switch the camera on, and generally the lens extends, then I get the error, and i dropped my camera and the lens is stuck the lens won't retract when I switch the camera off. It doesn't make any odd noises or anything, and removing the battery for canon camera lens error will shutdown automatically an instant and then replacing it sorts the problem out. It does, however, cause the camera to lose any stored wireless profiles, which is really annoying - more annoying than the error itself. It should still be under warranty (I'm http://www.justanswer.com/electronics/2223t-nikon-coolpix-p1-digital-camera-posted-lens-error.html assuming warranty in the UK is 1 year? - I bought it from Jessops); but I'm moving overseas next week so I can't have it repaired if it's going to take more than a couple of days; equally, I doubt that it has an international warranty, so if I'm going to have it repaired I probably do have to do it before I leave. Any idea if this is something that's going to keep getting worse if I don't http://www.velocityreviews.com/threads/nikon-coolpix-p1-lens-error.481963/ get it repaired? Or how long it might take to be repaired? Or whether there's something I can do to fix it myself, or avoid it happening again?
