Error (Stuck or Jammed Lens) on a Digital Camera (Last Update: 13 February, 2014) If this information helps nikon coolpix s3000 lens error you, please pay it forward, and share this article with others who may be experiencing the same problem. Your help in sharing will be appreciated, and karma will prevail! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkEfnF6zVxc This has to be THE most common failure mode for a digital camera, a stuck lens, jammed lens, or a malfunctioning lens. Some common error messages that might show up on the LCD's of cameras with this problem include "E18 lens error" (older Canon Powershot), "ACCESS" error (Sony Cybershot), "Zoom Error" (Fuji Finepix), "Lens Obstructed" (Kodak Easyshare), "lens error, http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html restart camera" or just "lens error" (Nikon Coolpix and some other camera makers lately are using this variation). The problem is actually quite common throughout all camera brands. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended. Believe it or not, one BIG contributor to lens errors is using a camera case. Sand, gunk, case fibers, etc... accumulate at the bottom of the case. These materials love to cling to the camera by electrostatic build-up from the camera rubbing against the side of the case (especially those cases with soft fibrous intreriors). Once these materials work their way into the lens mechanism, that's all she wrote. I have many Canon's

The lens is not able to come outside. I don't know how to solve this problem. I know it is still in warranty period, but I brought it from some other country, other than the current country of stay. Is the Nikon warranty worldwide or countrywise? nikon troubleshooting share|improve this question edited Oct 28 '12 at 15:18 mattdm 91.2k29265514 asked Oct 28 '12 at 14:54 pradeepchhetri 14115 2 You might find this info helpful: photo.stackexchange.com/questions/11755/… –dpollitt Oct 28 '12 at 16:26 Today took the camera to nikon service center. They tell the lens has gone bad without even checking properly. I don't know what to do now. –pradeepchhetri Nov 17 '12 at 20:32 1 camerarepair.blogspot.in/2007/12/… –GoodSp33d Jan 31 '13 at 14:13 If Nikon was smart they would do worldwide, If that were my cam, I take it apart to make sure everything was working as it should be! From what you said, it sounds like it a sensor on the inside! this is looking like something you might have to send or take in to get fix! not sure if that model you have has a reset on it, sometimes taken out the battery as well as the one on the inside will reset it to factory settings! I hope this help out! good luck –us
