Sep 23, 2013 I recently had the message come up saying "Lens Error. Contact nikon j1 10 30mm lens error a Nikon-authorized service center". I have read online and realize now that this is not

an uncommon error. It sucks since I have never dropped it or anything. Anyway the camera is useless with this error coming up and nikon 1 lens error uk I am not sure what my best bet is to get it fixed. I bought the camera about a year ago from a retailer as an open box display model. I paid cash and no longer have a

receipt. When I go to Nikon online it appears that proof of purchase is required to register and get service based on that registration. Does anybody have any experience with Nikon that makes them feel otherwise? I took it to a local repair shop and the guy said he thought it was an issue with the camera. Specifically he thought it was with the contacts where the lens connected with the camera. I feel like he is full nikon lens recall of it and that there is something that came loose in the lens. If I strike out with Nikon I am thinking about taking the lens apart. When I rotate the lens with the camera on it zooms properly and then it gets to a point and "shifts" which is when the message comes up. Any thoughts on opening up the lens to try to fix this myself? Thanks for any advice. I enjoyed using the camera and was learning more about how to use it but am bummed about it breaking so easily. Any help is appreciated! :3 So some info about my camera. I have a Nikon J1 along with 3 lenses: 10 lens, 30-10 lens, and 110-30 lens. I have had my camera for a little over a year and I have never dropped it so it shouldn't malfunction. So there is a focusing problem I have found with my 30-10 lens. This started happening on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013. When I extend my lens to 10 and then turn it on it seems to work fine while focusing. I know that it is focusing because the picture kind of moves in and out so it looks like it's doing its best in focusing. However, when I extend my lens to 14, 18, 24, or 30 and then turn it on it always says the message, "Lens error. Contact a Nikon-authorized service center." I notice that it won't take any effort to focus because the picture doesn't really move in and out. The problem seems only to be when I focus on anything beyond 10. Another problem that I noticed that happens really really rarely is blacking out. When I turn on my camera (and remember this happens very very rarely), the screen blacks out and won't take a picture but will still show the box (it turns red so it doesn't focus). It seems as if the lens thinks it is seeing pure darkness and there is nothing to focus on. My only fix for this is turning it off and putting the lens cap back on and turning it on and repeating this over and
