Uploaded on Nov 13, 2011http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007...This video provides a step-by-step description of techniques to repair the most common problem for digital cameras, the dreaded "lens error". This problem goes by many names, depending on the camera manufacturer. Some other names for this problem include for Canon Powershot and Nikon Coolpix "lens error", Sony Cybershot "access error", Kodak Easyshare "lens obstructed",and Fuji Finepix "zoom error" and "focus error". Some error messages may just show a nikon coolpix l830 lens error number (e18 error). But no matter its name, the issue involves a problem with the extension of the camera's lens mechanism (or lens barrels). The lens doesn't extend properly or becomes stuck, jammed, or the lens was damaged because the camera was dropped Here's how to fix it, without even taking a screwdriver to the camera!CR Category Howto & Style License Standard YouTube License Show more Show less Loading... Nikon Coolpix S3000 Lens Error
saying "Lens Error. Contact a Nikon-authorized service center". I have read online and realize now nikon coolpix factory reset that this is not an uncommon error. It sucks since I have never dropped it or anything. Anyway the camera is useless nikon coolpix s4000 lens error with this error coming up and I am not sure what my best bet is to get it fixed. I bought the camera about a year ago from a retailer as an open box display model. I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkEfnF6zVxc paid cash and no longer have a receipt. When I go to Nikon online it appears that proof of purchase is required to register and get service based on that registration. Does anybody have any experience with Nikon that makes them feel otherwise? I took it to a local repair shop and the guy said he thought it was an issue with the camera. Specifically he thought it was with the contacts where the https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52213060 lens connected with the camera. I feel like he is full of it and that there is something that came loose in the lens. If I strike out with Nikon I am thinking about taking the lens apart. When I rotate the lens with the camera on it zooms properly and then it gets to a point and "shifts" which is when the message comes up. Any thoughts on opening up the lens to try to fix this myself? Thanks for any advice. I enjoyed using the camera and was learning more about how to use it but am bummed about it breaking so easily. Share March 13, 2016 A lens error message on a Nikon Coolpix S220 can unfortunately be fairly common. This kind of error message is sometimes accompanied by a beeping sound as the lens attempts to come out or retract, or in some cases the lens might fail to move or the camera shuts down completely. This problem, however, is not unique to Nikon Coolpix S220 cameras only, but rather is a pretty common problem in other digital cameras as well. Causes of Lens Error Messages There are several problems that can trigger an error lens message in a Nikon Coolpix S220. These include: The camera is dropped with its lens extended The camera's battery gets drained with the lens extended Presence of dirt particles such as sand or grit somewhere along the lens' extension mechanism Dirt accumulation at the bottom of the camera case Luckily for Nikon Coolpix owners, it not hard to rectify a lens error message. Most of the fixes are quite easy, though others are a little bit more extensive and can void the warranty on the Coolpix. In such cases, it's better to perform the more extensive procedures on cameras whose warranty period has expired, while bearing in mind that this warranty does not extend to problems caused by dirt or damage from impact. How to Fix the Error Message the Easy Way The following methods are good places to begin when fixing the camera. If the problem has been caused by flat batteries, remove the batteries then wait for a few minutes. Now put a fresh set of NiMH 2500mah batteries then turn the camera on. If this fails to work, press and hold the ''OK'' or ''Function'' buttons while powering the camera on. Alternatively, remove the batteries and the memory card together. Wait for a few minutes then put in a fresh set of batteries and replace the memory card, then powe
