an error message. Lens Stuck / Camera Error Message¶ This is a common error for most SD850 users. Upon turning on the camera, either an "E18 Lens Error" or "Lens Error, Restart Camera" message appears on the LCD screen. This problem is usually due to dirt or debris getting inside the lens or due to a broken lens mechanism. A probable solution is to send the camera in to Canon by going to the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Product Repair canon g10 lens error restart camera Webpage to have the problem solved. Damaged Lens¶ If the camera has been damaged in any way while it was still on with the lens extended, it may not retract when powered off. You can check if you have this problem by looking at the lens. There should be an even gap between the camera and the lens, if this isn't the case then your camera is off-centered. You can try to fix this problem yourself by gently pushing on the lens until you hear a click which could indicate the camera is pushed back into position. But a more probable solution is to send the camera in to Canon by going to the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Product Repair Webpage to have the problem solved. Camera Will Not Turn On¶ Your camera will not turn on. Dead Battery¶ Check to make sure that your battery is fully charged and correctly inserted into the battery slot in the camera. If this does not work, your battery may need to be replaced. Dirty Terminals¶ The terminals from the battery or the camera are not clean enough to get a connection. Try cleaning the terminals with a Q-tip. Bad Logic Board¶ If a circuit on the logic board has gone bad due to trauma or water damage, your camera will not turn on. This will be apparent as your camera will not turn on at all, with nothing displayed on

Place it on the back with the lens facing up and take a look at the spacing between the lens and the lens housing. If you notice that the gap is not even all the way around the lens, the problem should be easy to fix. This type of a problem usually occurs if the camera was dropped while the lens was extended. Simply - VERY GENTLY - press down the lens on the side where the gap is the biggest. You sh

Lens is stuck out and makes slight noise and some beeps when i turn on the power. Recharged battery but didn't help. Submitted: 5 years ago. Category:Camera and Video Share this conversation Expert: Louie replied5 years ago. Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Initially, it would appear to be a mechanical issue on the lens gearing system. Likely a grain of sand, dirt or dust has caused the gears/lens not to fully operate or get stuck in the extended position.Offhand, the prescribed approach is to disassemble the lens mechanism in a sterile environment, clean, re-lubricate and re-assemble.A possible workaround is to place a vacuum hose capturing the extended lens and switching the camera on/off. The idea is to draw out any foreign matter that may be impeding the lens movement. It may also help to slightly pull apart the hose from the lens/camera to allow air to pass through and jar any foreign matter free. If the hose is not big enough, a funnel of sort may be constructed using thick/hard paper.Alternately, consider using a can of compressed air on the lens/camera junction. Please post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
