She attempted to reboot, and the machine tried to do some updates before shutting down. Upon rebooting, the computer said that the updates were not mac os successful, and then this kernel panic error came up. It now comes up immediately every time she attempts to load the operating system. She can't get on the computer any more now. panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8009259241): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \ "ACPI\".\n"@/SOURCECACHE/xnu/xnu-2050.20.9./iokit/Kernel/IOPlaformExpert.cpp: 1548 Debugger called: ^Panic^ Backtrace(CPU 0), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff80827f3de0 : 0xffffff8008e1d626 0xffffff80827f3e50 : 0xffffff8009259241 0xffffff80827f3e60 : 0xffffff800923081b 0xffffff80827f3ea0 : not yet set 0xffffff800923033e 0xffffff80827f3f30 : 0xffffff800922c2d0 0xffffff80827f3f70 : 0xffffff8009230e99 0xffffff80827f3fb0 : 0xffffff8008eb2957 BSD process name corresponding to current thread : Unknown Mac OS Version : Not Yet Set Kernel Version : Darwin Kernel Version 12.2.1: Thu Oct 18 16:32:48 PDT 2012; Root:XNU-2050.20.9~2/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 0AFA55FD-872F-3BBE-8630-214EB586A16D Kernel Slide: 0x0000000008C000000 Kernel Text Base: 0xffffff8008e00000 System Uptime in Nanoseconds: 242797809 Click to expand... We want to address this issue to get back on the computer, but have no clue what to do. I grew up with Windows computers. Not at all familiar with Macs.
