To continue, close the database, and then open it again. More details: The database is split, with the back end and front end on a server. The computers are then connected to the server via LAN (ethernet). Although there are multiple computers connected to the server, the database only has one user at a time. The database has been fine for almost a year, until this week where this error has started occurring. We never have connectivity issues with the server. I have seen several answers saying it is: the databases fault, as it is starting to corrupt the servers fault, as it broken, dropping my connection briefly microsofts fault, they should patch it I am hoping this is a problem with the database itself, as I am not responsible for the server. The reason there is ambiguity and different options is because they are all possible. –Mark C. "Your network access was interrupted, to continue close the database and then open it again." I suspect there was a server upgrade over the week end. When I google the answers are all over the board on whether its server or local machine related. Has anyone had any issue with Access after server upgrades? draceplace, Feb 4, 2013 #1 20_2_Many Joined: Jun 29, 2012 Messages: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27747034/network-access-was-interrupted 518 Have seen this happen where the networked backend location is changed. Meaning, normally located on network share P: , but today that share is connected on Q: Coding to specific location like \\server\full\file\path\location has resolved most of this error due to drive letter changes I have seen. Hope this helps. 20_2_Many, Feb 4, 2013 #2 draceplace Thread Starter Joined: Jun 8, 2001 Messages: 2,198 Thanks, 20_2_Many, I'm hoping someone inadvertally moved a network share after people opened the db, BEs https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-access-network-access-interrupted.1088167/ did have UNC path as opposed to drive letter, but if the directory moved it would cause this. I got concerned when I first googled the problem seeing that 2008 network servers had some setting that was dropping the connections for access after an inactivity period, and that setting had to be changed...Those post were a year old. The issue seems to be taking care of itself. I'll marked solved shortly if users stay quit. draceplace, Feb 4, 2013 #3 20_2_Many Joined: Jun 29, 2012 Messages: 518 I had forgotten that setting change! Thanks for the reminder! So many times people will do a reset or restore, or even an innocuous change and never consider the downstream complications. Hope all is good on your end now. 20_2_Many, Feb 4, 2013 #4 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. To continue close the database and then open it We have a network with about 12 users. We have no server, but are using a NAS as our file source. We have the data in a back end database on the NAS, and each user has a version ms access 2007 of the programming on a front end copy on his own workstation. Several of the users are getting the above message. A couple say they get it several times a day, others never get it. Our systems are a mixed bag of Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and XP. We are running MS Access 2010. The error message does not hit everyone, and it appears to be a random event, nothing specific. Any ideas? If that's the case, then the first thing to look at would be the connection between the TS and the machine running the SQL Server. Have you checked the event log of both machines to see if there's any clues? Also check User and Group settings for policies that may cause this. I'm not sure exactly what those would be (the logs will likely give you a clue, if this is a problem). If you run the db locally from the TS box (i.e. do a physical walkup and fire up a local copy of the FE) does the same thing happen? 0 LVL 11 Overall: Level 11 MS Access 6 Message Active 1
