Solved Run-Time error '2109' Posted on 2003-07-03 MS Access 1 Verified Solution 7 Comments 1,932 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-04 Help... On my form i have a button that does several things... 1). Saves the record 2). Prints the current record 3). http://www.solvusoft.com/en/errors/runtime-errors/microsoft-corporation/microsoft-access/2109-there-is-no-field-named-in-the-current-record/ Advances to the next new (blank) form (record) 4). Places the cursor at the field named ETR as the starting point for the next new record. Often times but not every time I get an error message that says: Run-Time error '2109' There is no field named 'ETR' in the current record. I then have an option to END or DEBUG, When I click DEBUG the code that is highlighted is: DoCmd.GoToControl https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20668071/Run-Time-error-'2109'.html "ETR" I DO clearly have a field named ETR in both the table and form. My entire code for this button is as follows: Private Sub Command23_Click() DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, acSaveRecord, , acMenuVer70 DoCmd.PrintOut acSelection DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec DoCmd.GoToControl "ETR" Exit_Command23_Click: Exit Sub End Sub Is something wron or missing??? now, I am trying to use a Requery to update certain data on my "DraftTracker_H". Jon, Thanks for your help, I used the following VB: Private Sub Fielding_Slot_AfterUpdate() Forms!frm11_DraftTracker_H.Requery End Sub And got back this error: Run-Time-Error '2450' Microsoft Access can't find the form 'frm11_DraftTracker_H' reffered to in a macro expression or Visual Basic Code. Does this need to be in a specific event? Or would I be better off if I put this on a button? Commish, Mar 29, 2011 #2 Advertisements John W. current records. I changed EmployeeID to Orders. Still got error. Changed back to EmployeeID. Now get message Error 2109. I did as you said below and added the square brackets around orders by customer. Then I got message box to pop up when I select Orders at bottom of form that form is to open. I "X" off of that message box and get another message box stating that it is closing. I never got to second form "Orders". I then took the square brackets off and now get the message that Microsoft Access cannot move focus to control EmployeeID. When I debug, DoCmd.GoToControl "EmployeeID" is highlighted in yellow. I have customer previously entered that I can go to orders and add more orders. What do I need to do? I am such a novice that I am afraid I am creating more problems for myself. Many thanks in advance. JR "Douglas J. Steele"
