3, 2003. septim Guest Why am I getting Run-time error 2475 when I try this Access Help Example in Access? I don't get this run-time error in Visual Basic 6 Professional. When I tried the following Access Help Example in either an Access form or a Visual Basic form, I got the "Declare statements not allowed as Public members of object modules" message. So I added the Private keyword. After changing "Declare" to "Private Declare" I got "Run- time http://www.solvusoft.com/en/errors/runtime-errors/microsoft-corporation/microsoft-access/2475-you-entered-an-expression-that-requires-a-form-to-be-the-active-window/ error '2475': You entered an expression that requires a form to be the active window" when running the form in Access. To try this in a Visual Basic 6 Professional form, I replaced DoCmd.Maximize with WindowState = 2 and that works. The following is copied verbatim from Access Help: ------------------------------------------------- The following example uses the hWnd property with the Windows http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/hwnd-property-help-example-gives-run-time-error-2475-in-access-but-not-in-vb6.1631858/ API IsZoomed function to determine if a window is maximized. ' Enter on single line in Declarations section of Module window. Declare Function IsZoomed Lib "user32" (ByVal hWnd As Long) As Long Sub Form_Activate() Dim intWindowHandle As Long intWindowHandle = Screen.ActiveForm.hWnd If Not IsZoomed(intWindowHandle) Then DoCmd.Maximize End If End Sub I also got Run-time error 2475 in Access with this code: ------------------------------------------------------- Private Declare Function IsZoomed Lib "user32" (ByVal hWnd As Long) As Long Private blnWasMaximized As Boolean Sub Form_Activate() Dim lngWindowHandle As Long lngWindowHandle = Screen.ActiveForm.hWnd ' The IsZoomed function returns True if a window is maximized If IsZoomed(lngWindowHandle) Then blnWasMaximized = True DoCmd.Restore End If End Sub Private Sub Form_Deactivate() If blnWasMaximized = True Then DoCmd.Maximize End Sub septim, Jul 3, 2003 #1 Advertisements Dirk Goldgar Guest "septim" <> wrote in message news:0c9b01c3416c$55d54720$ > Why am I getting Run-time error 2475 when I try this > Access Help Example in Access? Before I begin let me explain what I trying to do. I have a form that I am using to import data. Inside the form I have a progress bar to show how must progress of the import data. I am using a calling a public function to show and hide the progress bar. Below is a sample of the code. Public Function ShowHideImportStatus(ByVal ShowHide As Integer) '---------------------------------------------------------- Static lbl As Label, ctrl As Control, frm As Form On Error GoTo ShowHideStatus_Err Set Frm = Screen.ActiveForm Select Case ShowHide Case Is = 0 ' Show Status Bar Case is = 1 ' Hide Status Bae End Select I get the Error on the Set Frm = Screen.ActiveForm line. I use ShowHideImportStatus(0) to Hide the Progress Bar and ShowHideImportStatus(1) to display the form. The Function works ok, but when call the function ShowHideImportStatus(0) to hide the progress Bar n when the form opens, I get the error message Run Time Error 2475. I tried putting calling function when form is loading, but I still get the error message. The only way the function works is if I put in some object such such as button after the form is open. I would like the function be to called with having to press a button or a label, that is when the form is open. Is access able to to this is or I am out of luck ?
