The form does have a data source (a table). Before this code, I insert a new a record in the bound table via a recordset and now an attempting to position on that record with the ApplyFilter command. The code fails when run normally. When I single step through the code it always works fine. Any ideas? The ApplyFilter command has always worked for me before so I don't know what caused the problem in this case. It's quick & easy. unbound subform not working correctly P: n/a Robert I have a form (Worksheet) that works fine https://bytes.com/topic/access/answers/495627-unbound-subform-not-working-correctly by itself. I have now created a seperate form (MainForm) that has a command button in http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=54406 the header and an unbound subform (FormFrame) in the Detail section. when the user clicks the command button, Worksheet is loaded into the subform control. At this point, some of the functions do not work. The user is prompted to enter a Parameter Value. Why wouldn't that form (Worksheet) work the same as a sub form? There are no controls from or references ms access to anthing on Worksheet on the MainForm form, other than loading it from the command button. What am I not understanding? The record source for this Form is a query named “Need to Send First Letter”. It has 2 unbound text boxes called Minamt and Maxamt – where you can put a high and low number that you want to search between to narrow your results. Here’s the command:DoCmd.ApplyFilter , "[TOTALTAX] Between [Forms]![Need to send First Letter - Specified Range]![Minamt] And [Forms]![Need to send First Letter - Specified Range]![Maxamt]" When I run this within the Navigation Form (Named Navigation Form) I get a Run-time error ‘2491’ – The action or method is invalid because the form or report isn’t bound to a table or query. I have searched high and low and tried multiple things, but cannot figure out what I need to do to make this work. Can anyone help? Last edited by BigLou; 08-13-2015 at 07:39 PM.
