After addtion of 30000 records I am getting the error: 3260 couldn't update; currently locked by user <1> on machine <2>. Though this is a single ms access error user system and adding all these records from single function this error is coming. After Clicking OK program is running through it's normal way and adding new records. Again after adding few thousands of records the above error comes. setting used are Dynaset and pessimistic locking. Is there is any mechanism in vc++ so that no error message from system should be displayed. What Setting of access should I use to remove the above error. Please help me. Hi, I have this error : run-time error '3260' and it says that the second user can't edit his record because it's locked by another user. But both of them have to edit their records at the same time if they want. Please can anyone tell me how to tell if someone is editing the record I want to edit. But you can trap the error using the On Error Goto LabelName and show an error message or whatever. Code: Private Sub Edit() On Error Goto NoEditable 'Your code On Error Goto 0 Exit Sub NoEditable: If Err = 3260 Then MsgBox "That record is being used" Resume Next End If Emiliano F.
