But for some reason i am having trouble getting this one to work. I simply have a Data control filling in data bound text or combo boxes with the current selections data. But http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?408066-RESOLVED-Data-control-Runtime-Error-3426 when i try to move to another selected record by using the VB Code: Dim Item As String Item = dbcItemNumber.Text Data1.Recordset.FindFirst "ItemNumber = '" & Item & "' i get an error... Runtime Error '3426' This action was canceled by an associated object. This is frustraing as this is the same code i've used for other programs and they worked and are still working. Also if i get rid of the variable Item and just have VB Code: Data1.Recordset.FindFirst "ItemNumber = 'X001' It works. Any ideas anyone? Last edited by Hojo; May 30th, 2006 at 01:59 AM. For 95 % of my users the update procedure works without any problems at all. However a select few suffer an immediate 3426 error on their first update ( during the update procedure). I have sent them new databases to rule out corruption but the problem returns on their very next update. This problem is unique to these users only and everyone else has no ms access runtime trouble whatsoever ? Please Help !!!! Reply With Quote 12-11-02,14:07 #2 Bruce A. If it works on their PC when you test it, try: opening Access and then running your application, closing Access while your application is running, Perhaps they don't have enough system resources. Last resort, insert error handling displays/code to help pinpoint the point of abend. The only common theme seems to be Windows 98 ? As we can't replicate the problem we just can't get anywhere with it. Any further thoughts would be very much appreciated.
