Is this the free version ro the Pro version? 3.) I am more used to seeing an AD description of a computer - you are showing IP addresses. Do you have better luck using AD assignments of the package? 0 https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/343742-pdq-deploy-msi-error-1602-user-cancelled-installation Datil OP IRJ Jun 4, 2013 at 1:38 UTC David9459 wrote: I don't know the answer, but a couple of questions come to mind. 1,) Does this package work at all (are there successful pushes)? 2.) It was successfully on about half of the deployments Free version. I am actually interested in the paid version if I can get the free version working reliably The reason this deployment has them listed by IP is because I pulled a report from our Lumension patchlink server which shows the IP address of systems that dont have an agent. I just took those IPs and put them into my deployment list. 0 Datil OP IRJ Jun 4, 2013 at 1:47 UTC David, I took your advice and populated 5 of the failed computers via AD by browsing my OUs and selecting the workstations. Same exact failure as before on all 5 systems 0 Datil OP Sean Donnelly Jun 4, 2013 at 3:12 UTC Can we see a screenshot of what your options and parameters look like? 0 Cayenne OP Helpful Post Phil Adler Jun 4, 2013 at 3:26 UTC I use PDQ Deploy alot and here are a few things you ca
constantly showing "Please wait while the application is preparing for the first use". http://trukhanov.com/2013/09/error-1602-or-1618-during-install-of-any-msi-packet/ After you press Cancel, it gives you error message saying that installation could not be completed because other installation is in progress. The only diagnostic message http://superuser.com/questions/386306/java-installers-and-uninstallers-return-error-1602 in the Application log was EventID 1033 form MsiInstaller with message "Installation success or error status: 1602" or "Installation success or error status: 1618". Which obviously msi error not helpful. Internet search revealed, that this message is quite common and can be caused by many things. Also I have found that installer created MSI*.log which contained the same diagnostic message about status 1602 or 1618, but it also contained another message "Failed to grab execution mutex. System error 258" which also msi error code does not look helpful, but quick search for this string found forum conversation. The problem is that our server has Remote Desktop Session Host (Terminal services), which by default forbids chained installations. Chained installation is the method of installation when one msi file calls another one to install some prerequisites. Remote Desktop Session Host can be used by many users so, which can try to install many MSI files simultaneously, which potentially can cause some conflicts and broken installations, so Remote Desktop Session Host by default permits only one installation at a time, all other installations are queued for sequential installations. Of cause it is not possible for chained installation, when you first MSI is running and is waiting subsequent msi file to complete, to queue subsequent installations. To fix this issue you need to use Group Policy, either local or domain. The required setting is: Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Remote Desktop Services->Remote Desktop Session H

I've tried using revouninstaller to remove the old java, which seems to be successful, but java 7's installer still won't execute. When I execute the offline installer, it asks for administrator privileges, loads up the MSI, and then vanishes. After consulting the event viewer I found these entries from MsiInstaller: Product: Java(TM) 7 Update 2 (64-bit) -- Installation operation failed. and Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Java(TM) 7 Update 2 (64-bit). Product Version: 7.0.20. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Oracle. Installation success or error status: 1602. All I know is that error 1602 is supposed to mean user cancelled the installation, which leads me to believe either UAC isn't working correctly (seems to work fine though), or there is some registry entry blocking the MSI installer (though I've checked manually). windows-registry windows-installer share|improve this question edited Nov 1 '13 at 17:11 Kevin Panko 4,959113144 asked Feb 5 '12 at 18:27 Alex 8119 1 See if this Microsoft fixit utility helps..support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall –Moab Feb 5 '12 at 20:23 I ran
