; soliddb database publish publishing read-only read only Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Attempts to publish assessments using IBM Rational AppScan Source Edition results in the error "Unable to process the database transaction. . . Database is read-only". Symptom When publishing assessments the following error might be reported in the scanner_exception.log file : 10/07/10 09:51:16 Error(4) thrown from file: DbCommand.cpp(98) and caught in file: DbObjectImpl.cpp(38): Unable to process the database transaction. Error: HY000 SOLID Database Error 10041: Database is read-only Cause The size of the database reached the limit specified in the [INSTALL_DIR]\SolidDB\appscansrc\solid.ini file. This file contains all configuration https://community.hpe.com/t5/Network-Management-OpenView-NNM/SOLID-Database-Error-10041-Database-is-read-only/td-p/3957627 settings for the SolidDB database used by AppScan Source. By default the file-size limit of the database in AppScan Source Edition 7.0 was set to 1 GB. However, there are also other possible causes for the error. For example, the same problem may occur when working with lost sinks, custom rules, or any other action that needs to write information to the database. Resolving the problem Replace [INSTALL_DIR]\SolidDB\appscansrc\solid.ini http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21449788 on the system containing the SolidDB database (typically installed on same system as AppScan Source for Core) with the file attached here: Disclaimer All source code and/or binaries attached to this document are referred to here as "the Program". IBM is not providing program services of any kind for the Program. IBM is providing the Program on an "AS IS" basis without warranty of any kind. IBM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY ACTUAL, DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES OR FOR ANY ECONOMIC CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR SAVINGS), EVEN IF IBM, OR ITS RESELLER, HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. solid.ini Note: Before replacing, backup the old file and rename (for example, solid.ini.old). After replacing, you will need to restart the AppScan Source Windows services/Linux Daemons. The updated solid.ini file will raise the file-size limit to 20 GB. However, SolidDB can actually grow up to 32 TB. To determine which process is using the file a tool called 'Unlocker' can be used (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/#download or I:\Utilities). Once installed, right click on the company file itself and choose ‘Unlocker’ to see what processes are using the file at the moment. -------------- This can be used with any file or folder.
