Native Error 29006, The process could not deliver the snapshot to the Subscriber Rate Topic Display Mode Topic Options Author Message Rod EarlyRod Early Posted Tuesday, January 10, 2006 1:58 PM SSC Veteran Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Tuesday, September 17, 2013 5:03 PM Points: 246, Visits: 52 I have a CF.NET application (C#) with a SqlCE database. We had originally planned to use SQL Authentication to replicate with the publication and indeed had SQL Authentication working flawlessly. Then our client asked us to use Windows Authentication instead. For incremental changes, Windows authentication works fine. When trying to do the initial synchronization where the application receives the snapshot database from the publishing database, there is trouble. I have tested this in the PPC 2002 and 2003 emulators and on an actually PPC device as well. I get the following error: A call to SQL Server Reconciler failed. [,,,,,], Source=Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition, NativeError=29006,HResult=-2147467259 The process could not deliver the snapshot to the Subscriber., Source=Merge Replication Provider, NativeError=0,HResult=-2147201001 Here is difference in my code between Windows and SQL Authentication: #if SQLAUTHENTICATION repl.PublisherLogin = "MyLogin"; // publisher Login; repl.PublisherPassword = "MyPassword"; // publisher Password; repl.PublisherSecurityMode = System.Data.SqlServerCe.SecurityType.DBAuthentication; #else repl.PublisherSecurityMode = System.Data.SqlServerCe.SecurityType.NTAuthentication; #endif As far as I know, I have properly configured the snapshot IIS folder with the correct permissions for IIS_MachineName (for anonymous-Sql Authentication) and also with the domain users for Windows Authentication. The domain users are also in the Publication Access List. The bottom line is that in for Windows Authentication I am not able to receive the snapshot from the publishing database on the first synchronization. However, I am able to do incremental synchronization through Windows Authentication. And I have no problems with SQL Authenication (
running on an NT 4.0 Workstation box, and I'm just trying to get the replication sample to run. I've used the Northwind db, Southwind db, and my own database, all to no avail. I've gotten as far as 29006 and 29045, but cannot get past these. I downloaded a Word file that talked about Snapshot locations, but still no go. Any ideas??? Pete Top Replication error 29006 by ly.. » Fri, 29 Mar 2002 08:10:29 I am having similar problem on my laptop. Can you at least get the RDA sample to work? I could. I have another box with similar http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic249745-137-1.aspx set up and all the samples ran fine!? I have tried them on my iPaq, Intermec and Symbol Pocket PCs. ********************************************************************** Comprehensive, categorised, searchable collection of links to ASP & ASP.NET resources... Top Replication error 29006 by rob » Sat, 30 Mar 2002 10:52:22 I now have Merge Replication swinging along from my iPAQ =>BlueTooth=>GPRS phone=>Server. I have tested a 7000 row update which synced in about 2-3 mins on http://www.verycomputer.com/156_8166017ef9586119_1.htm this configuration. Here are some of the issues I uncovered along the way. 1. Download http://www.microsoft.com/sql/techinfo/administration/2000/SQLServerCE... y.doc this will help understand the security setup for the Anonymous login. Pay particular attention to the fact that you will need to add the IUSR_Machinename a/c to the replication database. 2. In the case of the laptop, if you have installed SQL Server on the laptop under a domain a/c and the laptop is not connected to the network, the merge agent will fail. Even though you may have logged on using cached credentials, the merge agent goes off to authenticate against the domain. 3. This one I still haven't figured out. My laptop is running both IIS and SQL Server. This mirrors (but is not related to) the setup on my server. When I have the iPAQ in the cradle (attached to the laptop) I can initialise and sync to either the laptop or server. Of course once I have initialised against one I can't replicate against the other. Therefore I would expect that I could test against the laptop when it is not connected to the network. This does not happen. I get this: Source: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition Error Number: 80072EFD Native Number: 28037 Error Description: Run HttpSendRequest failed. hresult has more detail SSCE_M_HTTPSENDREQUESTFAILED http://support.microsoft.com/def
