I've seen this happen, and a reboot did the trick. Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 3. Re: "Error 25005. I did not setup any constraints. Here is the SQL for creating the table from Enterprize manager.CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Activities] ([ActivityKey] [int] IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL ,[ClientId] [int] NOT NULL ,[ExerciseTypeId] [int] NOT NULL ,[WorkoutDate] [datetime] NOT NULL ,[SetNumber] [int] NOT NULL ,[GoalWeight] [int] NULL ,[GoalRepititions] [int] NULL ,[TimeToNextSet] [int] NULL ,[ActualWeight] [int] NULL ,[ActualRepititions] [int] NULL ,[ExerciseOrderId] [smallint] NOT NULL ,[date_stamp] [datetime] NOT NULL ,[rowguid] uniqueidentifier ROWGUIDCOL NOT NULL) ON [PRIMARY]Activity key is the Primary Key. The error-Collection while compacting contained the Native Error 25005: "The column cannot contain null values". Now unfortunately we have a similar case: database that cannot be compacted, again because of these Null-Values. This time though the database can still be opened and I have indeed spotted records containing only or partly Null-Values where this is not allowed. So in this case I might be able to repair the database by hand. The important question however is: HOW do these NULL-Values get into the database in the first place? Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce this. I also really wished that the compacting routine could just ignore this problem and repair what's repairable. Has anybody experienced similar problems? I'm really thankful for any hint I might get. Sabine Top 1. Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'ScopeId', table 'XXXXX_SITE.dbo.Webs' while database migration error 2. Defaulting ALL database columns in ALL tables - not allowing any NULL values...??? Hi, I have received the following email from a colleague, and am quite frankly baffled by the idea. I am just wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions about this???? === BEGIN MAIL === The DB2 DBA has requested that all columns in the tables be defined as not null with default to improve storage, performance, and ease of backup/recovery. Currently there are several columns in each table that are nullable. By making these columns not null with default, there would always be a value in the column, space for char/varchar, and 0 for integer/smallint/decimal. Does this cause any problems with the Java/Hibernate code? The DBA has indicated that all of the other Java applications are defined this way. === END MAIL === Thanks, John. 3.
