I already have QT Pro, so it's the first thing I tried. I have Perian, so the .FLV files play with no issues, but when I try to export them to something usable in iMovie, it makes it to the end of the export process and gives the following error:"The movie contains an incorrect duration -2014"Has anyone had this issue? Are there any known fixes? Mac OS X (10.5.6) Posted on Feb 16, 2009 1:56 PM I have this question too by Ricktoronto,Solvedanswer Ricktoronto Level 6 (11,550 points) A: Select an in and out point other than the very start and end (usually a good idea anyway as there is often a bunch of junk you don't need there) and then do edit trim to selection and then save as. Once in a MOV container try exporting. You might also try to select, copy , paste in a new player window and then save as, that new one and export from it after saving as. The sound plays fine through QT, but upon exporting, if I use the default sound option, it gives me the error. Any other sound option allows the video to export, but it does not have any audio. I'd still like to know if it's possible to fix it, if anyone has experienced something similar... that was a life changing experience for me. Below is the shortened version of this chapter in my life. I have added subtitles to allow those with hearing impairments to watch this video. Click on the image above http://edtech2.boisestate.edu/alfredm/portfolio/583/Accessible/subtitles.html to play the digital story. This file will open in a Quicktime player but may take http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/252165-Quicktime-Error-2014 sometime to download. The file size is 3.5 MB and is 2:24 seconds long. Production Notes: Create Subtitle Text File: 1. The first step in createing subtitles in QuickTime is to create a text file of the spoken words in the corresponding video. When you create this text file, place 4 to 9 words per line. It will look like the image below. Once you have quicktime error created this file, save it a .txt file. 2. The second step is to open the text file in QuickTime and export it as "Text to Text". 3. Once the text file is exported, it now has the time stamp marks and other needed scripts to be added to your Quicktime movie. The next step will be to adjust the time stamps in the text file to match those in the movie file. To do this, open your text file and quicktime error 2014 the corresponding movie. Open up the "Movie Inspector" in the video you would like to add the subtitles to. Then play the movie and adjust the time stamps in the text file to match those of the movie. Combine Text File with Video: Once the text file is created and the time stamps adjusted, it is time to add your text file to your video. 1. First, open the video in which you wish to add your text file. 2. Open your adjusted text file in a seperate Quicktime player. Note: If you recieve an error that states "error-2014: the movie contains an incorrect duration", the most common cause is the last two digits of your time stamp. [00:01:30.78] If the last two digits are higher than 30, and the frame rate of your video is 30, QuickTime believes that it needs to go to frame 78 rather than tenths of a second. To correct this, simply reduce the tenths of a second below 30 and the text file will open in a QuickTime player. 3. Once you have both your video and text files open in a QuickTime player, select "Edit" and click on "Select All" then "Edit" and "Copy". Once you have copied your text file, go to your video file and select "Edit" and click on "Add to Movie". 4. Now that you have added your text file to your movie, it is tim

I used xillisoft's encoder, and it encoded some without a problem. But a good portion of my videos (12-14) just gave me "Error 2014-Contains an incorrect duration time". I don't exactly know what that means. In addition to this, what I would really like to know is if there is ANY way I can still manage to save these videos that have apparently been corrupted. I was stupid and didn't think to copy the videos to a separate folder before attempting to encode them. I searched the forums on this site for similar questions, but didn't find any. I really hope someone can help me out. I would be so grateful. I also don't really know much of anything at all about video encoding or anything, so if you do decide to give me some advice, make sure you don't use any terms or concepts I am more than likely not familiar with. Thaaaank you so much!
