Try moving the file to another drive. If it opens, the other drive it was on may be named wrong. To get the movie to be saved on disk, I reduce the number of characters in the filename (as if we're stuck using the old MS-DOS with "extended" filenames), and then try again. Shortening the filename usually works.And if you look at the folder you tried to save the earlier files to, you'll see the filename you originally chose, with a file size of zero KB. Just delete those empty files. (I also superstitiously remove all spaces and punctuation marks in the filename, à la DOS, but have no idea if doing so makes any difference at all.)The latest version of QuickTime Pro (7.1.5) still generates this error message when I try to save in QT (e.g., the teasers for "This American Life" on Showtime). This gives me an error 43 (file not found). There are no special characters in the filename or path. When I copy the file on the system drive it works... I tried to reinstall quicktime, the latest version or an older version gives me the same error. Why quicktime can not find the file even when the it is placed on the root?
