Problem is I'm not finding any settings to modify operating PCI slots. As well this computer was said to have a virus so it will not allow me to look at the OS installed. Specs: Acer Aspire BL51 Turion x2 MK-36 2.0 Ghz 1GB Pc4200 200 pin Sodimm Wireless Adapter: Atheros AR5BMB 160 GB HDD OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Any ideas as to what may be wrong been searching and have found no manuals to tear this thing apart and check for loose connections etc. Answer this question I have this problem too Subscribed to new answers Is this a good question? Yes No Voted Undo Score 2 Cancel Comments: How are the system resources set in the BIOS? Is it set to auto or user defined? Also is plug and play OS set to yes in the BIOS? I believe that the Acer uses the PCI slot 3 for the SD card reader. If your model is equipment with that, try to change your system settings accordingly. Also, do you get the hit F1 to continue or anything like that after you receive your interrupt error message? 08/19/2011 by oldturkey03 It asks me to hit F1 to continue and this model does have a SD Card reader. I've tried looking on the Acer website but most things 404 and a PDF of the manual I found has nothing useful at all. Without the manual, how can I find the problematic PCI slot and fix the issue? bios pci share|improve this question edited Sep 27 '13 at 21:39 nc4pk 5,80593861 asked Sep 27 '13 at 20:48 Basically Alan Turing 141128 marked as duplicate by Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007, Mokubai♦, Oliver Salzburg♦ Sep 29 '13 at 16:54 This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question. If this is a laptop, then the things in the "PCI Slots" will actually be hardwired in, as there's no actual PCI expansion slots, just the lanes they used when hardwiring in a "PCI" sub-device on the motherboard (in most cases). –Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 Sep 27 '13 at 20:52 The RAM and the WLAN card aren't hard wired in, so I'm hoping whatever is in slot 03 isn't hard wired in, what could possible causer a "Resource conflict" ? –Basical

Every time the computer was started, we would see the Acer screen, and we'd hear some horribly loud beeps (uh oh).WE got an error message that said (from what I remember) Resource Conflict - PCI in slot 03. Bus: 06, Device: 04, function:00 (I don't know for sure about the bus, device, function numbers...). In the BIOS, I found that her Matshita UJ-850s DVD drive was in slot 3 (big uh oh). We were given two options: F1 to Resume, and F2 for Setup. We went into setup and restore the defaults and rebooted. Of course, we got the same error. If we pushed F1, it asked us to Start Windows Normally or run some Startup Recovery thing. The startup thing didn't really do anything, it would attempt to System Restore, but that didn't help. After trying many times to start it, it finally got to the log in screen (F1 to resume -> Start Windows Normally). We logged in, and I sent a few word documents she wanted to save to my email I checked the Device Manager, and there was an error next to th
