However, it keeps on freezing all the time and sometimes it makes me reset the BIOS before loading windows xp. Any ideas on what the problem might be, or anything I should do to fix this annoying problem? I have this question too 0 Kudos Reply cejackso What's DOS? It is running windows XP home. I have the latest BIOS rev installed - resource conflict 1.09. Every time I boot I get a resource conflict in the POST before I even get to the boot devices. ERROR Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller Bus:00, Device:03, Function:00 ERROR Resource Conflict - PCI Bus:00, Device:03, Function:01 The ethernet/modem card is a a mini pci intel pro/100 sp mobile combo internal adpater. In the BIOS there are no options for plug and play OS. I have disabled all other hardware in the bios that I can (infared port, parallel port,etc.). pci network controller Under BIOS>Config>PCI there are settings for IRQ A-D, where you can manually assign an IRQ address, set to Auto, or set to DISABLED. The default setting is address 11 for all four. No matter what addresses I choose the resource conflict/error list grows unless I choose the default of address 11 for all 4 or set all 4 to auto. Then I just get the errors I listed above. I have also tried restoring the BIOS default settings and that did not help. I can still boot into windows or to cd if I hit ESC after I see the resource conflict errors. Once in windows in the device manager there is a yellow exclamation point and a code 10 error for the intel network adapter and the ethernet port does not function. It is the only device that shows a problem. If I remove this card I get no resource conflicts and boot right into windows without any other issues. I have tried reinstalling the latest drivers for the card, uninstalling the hardware and reinstalling, disabling all other hardware devices I am not using, upgrading the bios to the latest revision, and replacing the intel network combo card with a brand new one. None of these resolved the problem. I am setup for ACPI so I cannot change any IRQ addresses for the devices manually in windows. Any other thoughts here? 0 Question by:wizardnug Facebook Twitter LinkedIn
