it resolved. Issue: We have a website published through ISA 2006. The site is configured for both HTTP and error code 64: host not available background: the connection to the web server was lost. HTTPS access from the ISA server. When a user connects to the site over HTTP, the site comes up fine. But when he tries over HTTPS, he gets a ‘page cannot be error code 64 host not available tmg displayed’. Troubleshooting and Resolution: We started with live logging on the ISA console while doing a repro of the issue. We were seeing ‘Failed Connection Attempts’ for the traffic coming from the test machine used for the repro, with the error message: Error 64 “The specified network name is no longer available” This error is very generic and there can be multiple reasons which would

translate to this error code. The most common one is when the backend server is performing a dirty TCP connection reset. So, to check this further, we collected a network monitor trace on the internal NIC of ISA server. We filtered down to the traffic that is of interest to us. So this clearly indicates that the backend server is Resetting the TCP connection prematurely and this is triggering the ‘64 Error’. Investigating further, we identified that the backend device is a 3rd party load balancer. And for some unknown reasons, the ISA server was failing at the SSL handshake stage. So, we had the 3rd party support team collect a dump of the SSL settings on the Load Balancer and identified the following: Then, we went back to the Network Monitor trace (the earlier screenshot) and compared this with the ciphers advertised by ISA server in the client hello. RSA_WITH_RC4_128_MD5 is not part of the Cipher list sent by the ISA server. Due to this, the 2 peers are not able to successfully choose a common encryption scheme and the SSL handshake fails. After identifying this, we had t

Introduction This post is based on a very interesting issue where an ISA Admin the specified network name is no longer available sql server 2012 was publishing an internal Web Server that was working internally just fine for host not available meaning a while. Internally the web server was listening on port 82 and therefore the bridging configuration on the Web Publishing

rule was correctly setup to HTTP 82. However when users were trying to browse from outside they received the error below: Figure 1 – Error 64: host not available. Gathering Data There are three main tools that can be used to isolate this issue: · ISA Logging · ISA Diagnostic Logging · Netmon Trace By gathering this data while the user was accessing the web site and getting the error it was possible to better understand what was happening. Let’s see: 1. ISA https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/isablog/2009/01/30/users-receive-an-error-64-when-browse-a-web-site-published-through-isa-sever-2006/ Serve Logging shows the error 64 and more details about the connection: Figure 2- ISA Server Logging. Notice in the details pane that: · ISA is sending a GET for the FQDN of the internal web server. · Error 64 here appears with more details saying that the network name is no longer available. · Write down the Req ID because it will be used in the filter for Diagnostic Logging 2. Diagnostic Logging shows the following sequence of events: Figure 3- Diagnostic Logging details. The sequence shows: · ISA Server sending the connect request to WSRVCT.contoso.msft on the IP 10.20.20.25 – both are correct. · ISA Server is forwarding the correct path (/*) · Target host header is showing as www.contoso.com · Right after ISA Server sends this request to the target host the web server replies with a response status equals to 400. 3. Network trace shows more details about this 400 > ISA sends HTTP GET (notice the host header): 10.20.20.2 10.20.20.25 HTTP GET / HTTP/1.1, NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE Hypertext Transfer Protocol GET / HTTP/1.1\r\n Request Method: GET Request URI: / Request Version: HTTP/1.1 Reverse-Via: ISA

The isa the specified server has 3 network interfaces. Two isa servers are in an array and they are in load balancing on both internal and external interfaces. The third interface is used for array communication and is therefore not load balanced. Both servers also act as webproxy servers and are configured to do caching. I have the following problem: On some (but not all) of the user PC's (acting as web proxy client) the specified network there is a "Error code 64: Host not available" when trying to get some pages. The requested page displas without problems on othe user PC's. I checked: -Both PC's were handled by the same "HTTP allow"rule. -Both PC's have IE 6.0 (latest version) -Anonymous access is allowed on the ISA server to this site Any ideas Post #: 1 Featured Links* RE: Error code 64: Host not available - 28.Feb.2006 6:15:43 PM LLigetfa Posts: 2187 Joined: 10.Aug.2004 From: fort frances.on.ca Status: offline I had a lot of 64 errors before enabling PMTUDiscovery. _____________________________The School of Hard Knocks is a mean teacher. You need to review your entire config. Ther

Before I start, I would like to mention that I tried the solution from an expert article "Q_21483635.html", but no luck. We have even opened a case with Microsoft PSS, and its been 10days now without any breakthrough. We have an ISA 2004 Server with Service Pack 2 running on Windows Server 2003. The problem is explained below.......... When user browse the Web Page. It will open for two or three pages. Intermittently, it will not open, and we need to click refresh for browsing. This happen very often. While checking in ISA logging Query we can see the Allowed user (By checking PC’s IP) as anonymous User and access was denied. If the same User when refreshes the browser they can able to browse and in ISA logging Monitor we are able to see the particular user's login name.
