to the same error. I have rebooted into safe mode and to last known good configuration and the same message continues to show up. Anyone have any idea how I can at least the specified user does not exist get to my desk top and run a fix (if there is one) or run a virus scan? I just loaded beta version of MS spyware. It is not possible to log onto the laptop...even in recovery mode.I suspect the laptop was hit by a virus because when I ran startup in "last successful" option, it gave me an error message that the registry was corrupted.
