Close all visual studios. Kill all compilers. Try again. share|improve this answer answered Jul 16 '13 at 9:52 doctorlove 9,38022035 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote here are some suggestions: you can download "unlocker" software and use it to determined what other process is using the file read this: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/d54374ff-1d17-4056-8144-eeb13ba7add4/the-specified-task-executable-clexe-

I didn't find any other software that was restricting non-admin access to the location that is mentioned by MSBuild. Possibly due to long relative paths? Moving project to a short subdir of a the specified task drive letter didn't help (see e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/139964/msbuild-directory-structure-limit-workarounds ) Any thoughts on how to address this issue? There may be some glob paths in my project ala #62. Would the fix perhaps be in sbclang.targets? (possibly to coerce a relative path to an absolute one?)
