It asked me whether I wanted to run the check the next time I rebooted and I select yes... Rebooted.. it started CHKDSK, got through step 1 fine, on step 2 it said: Fixing cross-link for file 8 and then: Unspecified error occured Then it merely boots into windows. What's wrong here? I would like to check my HD properly. Also, where does CHKDSK create a log of what it detected/fixed? I'd like to know whether this drive has bad sectors or whether it was something else.
