I am not sure as to what the cause might be to this but I would highly appreciate your suggestions/experiences on how to go on about solving this issue. Many thanks < > Showing 1-11 of 11 comments Dark Angel View Profile View Posts 18 Nov, 2015 @ 10:49pm Re-run the installer with the same A/I options and hopefully it will update. If you have modded your game at all, you will need a complete reinstall of the vanilla and mod. TATW for example overwrites some core game files

I just got a new computer yesterday, it meets all the given system requirements (8 gigs of ram, 1.7 gig graphics card, direct x 11.1, windows 7, etc.) except it's running on an Intel Core 3.4 GHz cpu (I'm not sure if that should be an issue, but it isn't one of the cpu's listed in the system requirements). I've checked all over the place online and haven't found anything that works. I've restarted steam, restarted my computer, uninstalled steam and M2TW (deleting all files), reinstalled them and so forth to no avail. Any ideas? < > Showing 1-1 of 1 comments Dark Angel View Profile View Posts 7 Mar, 201

Hello, I dont know, if Im right here, but Ive got the following problem: After a long played campaing on EB II Version 2.01 Ive now seen a new one comes out: 2.1 + 2.1b Patch. So I followed the installation guide and it worked shortly: double clicked on the "non steam encountered an unspecified version-Connection" (Have the Gold version) and see the intro and the new red starting picture. After choosing the Romans to do the first start, it crashed and after it, nothing worked. So I uninstalled EB II and M2TW. Restart my computer and deleted the restfiles I had found. I installed M2TW again under my second plate D:\Games\ and start a campagin, than quit and all works fine. Then I install the EB II 2.1 from the downloaded Zipfile (extracted with 7zip) and it doesnt works. Everytime I get shortly a black window (sometimes I can shortly see the red starting loading picture) and then it makes BLING and the message comes: Medieval 2: Total war encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. Id tried a lot of things recommended in the forums of twcenter and other stations. Ive reinstalled it more than one time; Ive patched it sometimes and sometimes I havent. Ive opened it as a administrator. I installed it one time under C:\Games\ ... I sometimes installed the installation exe from EB2 in a free folder and copy and paste it by my own. Ive also tried the fix patch which is recommended and im desperated now. 2.01 worked so fine and 2.1 doesnt want to start. Also it does not create a logfile or a log folder (but cfg is right), so I couldnt give a log file answer. One th
