Yes, I know, I see many of you rolling your eyes... I get this error every time I try to complete battle of hastings unspecified error tutorial. As soon as the king dies after getting shot by an arrow, the game crashes. I tried three times and it crashed 3 times at the same exact spot. I also tried a normal campaign and I managed to get into a battle. But, as soon as some sort of cinematics appeared to pop up the game crashed with the same error... I don't know what medieval 2 total to do, it's been two days that I've been trying to find out what to do and I'm at a brick wall... I read in a topic a little further down that you had to delete certain files, but how can I even delete them if I got the game through Steam??? I can't find the files... I have to admit I'm not too familar with Steam, but I've searched far and wide and I don't have access to any files related to the game... All I have are the .exe files in the steam games folder... Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm really dissappointed and out of ressources... I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find the solution... And I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem... And to finish off, here's a brief overview of my specs... which I'm pretty sure isn't the problem... And this has been going on for a week or two. My computer runs on Windows XP. I have had this problem since I got my driver fixed. I have downloaded some things to try to fix it but nothing has worked. Also when I go on my computer and right click and go to manage and view events an event ID that I think is making this error is event ID: 7036. I think that is the problem I don't know if this is the problem or not. dracoflameus, Aug 26, 2008 #1 iwassnow Joined: Jun 18, 2006 Messages: 447 My first suggestion would be to roll back that driver and try updating it again. If there was an error with the file, it could cause the problem your having. Aside from that, let's look at the simple stuff first. A few questions to quicken the process of elimination here: 1. What type of device was the driver you updated for? 2. What XP service pack do you have currently installed? 3. What exactly have you downloaded to "fix" it? 4. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? We'll start with that and work from there. iwassnow, Aug 27, 2008 #2 dracoflameus Thread Starter Joined: Aug 26, 2008 Messages: 2 My computer goes by Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The downloads to fix the problem was one from the internet called RegCure which did nothing. The other one I got from a store called Staples which is called Fix-It Utilities 8 this program is good at fixing other problems but it still has not fixed the problem with my game. And I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game ten times sadly every time it didn't do anything. I did not understand the first question you asked, but if you are trying to say wha
