Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 Error 13ec
Visual Studio Setup and Installation Question 4 Sign in to vote hi,all, I was trying to install visual studio 2010 sp1 on windows 8.1 pro x64, but it failed with error code 13EC. I am using windows update error code 13ec Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate RTM and I have enough disk space (much more than windows update code 13ec 5.5GB), I have also uninstalled .Net Framework 4.5 components and then installed SP1, but also with no luck, so how to solve this visual studio 2010 sp1 download issue. ps. I also have Visual Studio 2012 on board, since my old project was created using Visual Studio 2008 and was developing under Visual Studio 2010 for a long time, so I installed 2010 as well kb2901983 failed (don't want to cause any trouble). cheers Wednesday, November 20, 2013 9:20 PM Reply | Quote Answers 5 Sign in to vote The problem has been solved by manually installing the visual studio 2010 sp1 iso which can be downloaded from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691 cheers Marked as answer by daiyueweng Thursday, November 21, 2013 3:17 PM Thursday, November 21, 2013 3:17 PM Reply | Quote All replies 5 Sign in to vote The problem has been solved by manually installing the visual studio 2010 sp1 iso which can be downloaded from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691 cheers Marked as answer by daiyueweng Thursday, November 21, 2013 3:17 PM Thursday, November 21, 2013 3:17 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Hi, Thank you for sharing your solutions here. Oh well. –TheKB May 26 '15 at 8:36 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted The cause of this is either Not enough free disk space Windows Update being snotty with SP1 In the case of point 1, that's easy to sort, but I suspect that you have sufficient disk space available for that. In the case of point 2, as pointed out here, Windows Update is screwing up the updates, and the way to fix this is to use the stand alone installer from Microsoft, which can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691 Here is another point you might find interesting, again, from that same SO post. I had the same problem with later versions of Visual Studio (Visual Studio 2012, Visual Studio 2013), when trying to install Service Packs (SP2, SP3). Using the installer, it installed without problems. share|improve this answer answered May 26 '15 at 8:23 td512 3,8112830 I have over 300 GB of free space so its probably not the problem but the thing is that i don't have visual studio 2010 installed on this computer. –TheKB May 26 '15 at 8:25 neither.
