Fri, 10/22/2010 - 11:22 https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-visual-fortran-compiler-for-windows/topic/287049 I've found (by accident) that if the rc.exe accidentally goes missing, none of the repair tools will fix it. Back to uninstall/reinstall. If the corresponding folders under \intel\downloads are intact, you can run the setup.exe there (or indirectly from the add/remove menu).Yes, I have that very version running. Location of rc.exe may be different between ia32 and intel64 compilers, so I won't try to tell you where to look. Top Steve Lionel (Intel) Fri, 10/22/2010 - 14:35 Try this first - in Visual Studio, select Tools > Options > Intel Fortran > Compilers. Click "Reset All". If you are building for x64, select the target platform x64 and click Reset All again. Close VS and reopen it. rc.exe lives with the Windows SDK files. Offhand, I'm not sure where they go if you've installed VS Shell. Normally it's under Program Files [(x86])\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\V6.0a\bin (or something close to that) but I know that the VS Shell install puts some of the MS files in alternate locations. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 11:35 AM 1 Sign in to vote This is probably because rc.exe is not in your path Search your drive for rc.exe and add that location to your path, then restart Visual Studio. I personally was able to find rc.exe in these paths; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\bin If you don't have it, try installing the Windows Platform SDKCollin Sauve Proposed as answer by Collin Sauve Tuesday, October 20, 2009 8:05 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 8:04 PM 6 Sign in to vote I solved this problem by extracting the WCU\WinSDK\WinSDK_W32Tools.exethat located in the DVD or ISO with 7.Zip and then launch the VistaClientWin32Tools-x86.msi and install the contents. Does anyone know how to fix this? The "mt.exe" and "rc.exe" comes from "bin" directory in there. Those paths should be set automatically when you installed the Windows SDK. You can try to run "SetEnv.cmd" batch file, that is also located in the "bin" folder of Microsoft Windows SDK, which should set all the needed paths. Thanked by: Columbia42 orb View Public Profile Find More Posts by orb View Blog 06-22-2010, 12:39 AM #3 Columbia42 Orbinaut I ran SetEnv.cmd and it didn't fix the problem. It might be worth mentioning that I just reinstalled Microsoft Windows SDK and since then this problem has occured. Before that everything worked fine. Columbia42 View Public Profile Find More Posts
