I've used Debug Diagnostics v1.2 to get the following stacktrace out of the memory dump: System.RuntimeTypeHandle.CreateInstance(System.RuntimeType, Boolean, Boolean, Boolean ByRef, System.RuntimeMethodHandleInternal ByRef, Boolean ByRef) System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceSlow(Boolean, Boolean, Boolean)Unable to load image C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v4.0.30319_64\mscorlib\b10e2a4a87b27f241113ead9433e25da\mscorlib.ni.dll, Win32 error 0n2 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9623409/what-is-win32-error-0n2-and-why-is-it-preventing-my-app-from-running System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceDefaultCtor(Boolean, Boolean, Boolean, Boolean) System.Activator.CreateInstance[[System.__Canon, mscorlib]]() StructureMap.ConfigurationExpression.AddRegistry[[System.__Canon, mscorlib]]()*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for StructureMap.dll StructureMap.ObjectFactory.Initialize(System.Action`1) The second line is actually the one of interest to me. That file is present on my machine. Where should I look next for how to debug this service and get it running? For what it's worth, I've got a unit test that validates that the StructureMap configuration is correct, and it successfully passes. .net debugging windows-services structuremap share|improve this question asked Mar 8 '12 at 19:11 insta 3,21911242 3 Win32 error 0x2 is "file not found". Use Fuslogvw.exe to collect fusion errors. From fusion logs youd should be able to figure out which assembly is not found and where the loader searched for it before it gave up. Remember that windows service always starts in System32 directory... –seva titov Mar 9 '12 at 4:49 1 That should have been an answer. –insta Mar 9 '12 at 19:25 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Win32 error 0x2 is "file not found". I am trying to read dump file created by Windows 10 but keep seeing errors about ntoskrnl.exe and symbol errors. http://superuser.com/questions/33320/bsod-unable-to-verify-timestamp-for-ntoskrnl-exe I have gone through the tutorial by Golden. I notice the Executable search path seems to be a problem. ************* Symbol Path validation summary ************** Response Time (ms) Location Deferred SRV*H:\Symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols Symbol search path is: win32 error SRV*H:\Symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols Executable search path is: Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\ntoskrnl.exe, Win32 error 0n2 *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for ntoskrnl.exe *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for ntoskrnl.exe Windows 8 Kernel Version 10049 MP (12 procs) Free x64 Product: WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTS Built by: 10049.0.amd64fre.fbl_impressive.150325-1700 Machine Name: Kernel base = 0xfffff802`35872000 PsLoadedModuleList = 0xfffff802`35b814b0 Debug session time: Tue Apr 14 14:39:30.073 2015 (UTC - 5:00) win32 error 0n2 System Uptime: 0 days 0:04:28.787 Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\ntoskrnl.exe, Win32 error 0n2 *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for ntoskrnl.exe *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for ntoskrnl.exe Loading Kernel Symbols The version of Windgb is 6.3.9600.17298 AMD64. The test dump file in the tutorial will not extract or run. I tried downloading a version of Windbg from the link in the other thread but all I seem to get is Visual Studio and Phone development tools. If anyone wants to check, these dump files are from an X99 system running 2 GTX 980s in SLI surround mode. I don't seem to have a problem playing my games, but it appears interaction with the Desktop is generating the problems, such as clicking on the Start button. I have received many Video Driver has stopped responding and recovered type messages. I did have a heck of a time getting 10061 into Surround mode. I am providing the dump files, but I am really more interested in getting Windbg to work correctly. So the additional info regarding system configuration should not be necessary. I am not sure if Windows 10 is responsible for my problems or if I am using the wrong version of something... Thanks, this is not essent
