I've got it to the point where I can see the contents of the ftp folder, but when I try to write to https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26604338/username-password-not-working-for-my-FTP-server-setup-on-iis7-windows-2008.html it, I get the error 'access is denied'. When I look at the properties of the ftp folder (inetpub\ftproot\test) I tried setting security for network service and the user that I log in as (basic authentication) to full access, but this has not corrected the problem. What is the actual account that I must adjust in order to set security to allow the authenticated user to write to a folder? Cheers, Bernard Cheah Reply jeffleese2 13 Posts Re: Allowing ftp to access folder Mar 17, 2009 12:36 PM|jeffleese2|LINK Yes the user was created with basic authentiction with read and write access, and the folder has been given full control permission for the windows user. So, to confirm, when ftp attempts to write access a folder, it is using the user credential (rather than the credential that ftp runs under) right? Later I will try to use process monitor, as suggested. However, as this is the first time I use it, could you tell me what I should be looking for, to see exactly what is preventing write access. If want to debug, put a breakpoint on HttpOpenRequestA which is failing. win32 error code Full Details: I debugged the shellcode and realized this: InternetOpenA - Fine InternetConnect - Fine - It successfully authenticates to my FTP Server (So discard network issues) HttpOpenRequest - FAILED - Returns 0 InternetSetOption/HttpSendRequest - FAILED since no handle gotten in previous step.
