The computer in question was not compatible with this version of Windows. So Download and installed very latest ATI driver. I think you Upgrade your Windows Vista (To Windows 7 )rather then Clean installation. You should still have the option to install it as a clean install rather than upgrade. Take a look and see. A clean install could fix the problem for you. 0 Message Active today Author Comment by:Jinesh Kumar Kochath2012-04-16 I am using windows 7 for the last one year and no issues at all. recently i have formatted pc and installed windows 7 and done all updates this is happening after that and laptop is getting restarted immediately after this error 0 LVL 91 Overall: Level 91 Hardware 36 Windows 7 31 Networking Hardware-Other 10 Message Active today Assisted Solution by:nobus2012-04-17 either the driver software is bad, or the video card has problems what was the reason for formatting the PC? it may help troubleshooting 0 Message Active today Author Comment by:Jinesh Kumar Kochath2012-04-17 i formateed the laptop because of frequent restart 0 LVL 91 Overall: Level 91 Hardware 36 Windows 7 31 Networking Hardware-Other 10 Message Active today Accepted Solution by:nobus2012-04-17 >> of frequent resta

The first problem I got is I am getting random BSOD that say System_Thread_Exempt_Not_Handled (atikmdag.sys) I have been getting this when playing games on Facebook. I have completely removed all my video card drivers all the way to the point where Windows was saying "Basic Video Hardware" in device manager windows 7 and then I reinstalled the latest Beta driver from AMD/ATI's website. However, the problem still persists. Another thing I have noticed when going through the event logs trying to diagnose the first issue was that I am getting ALOT of another error. The error is Source:Kernel-EventTracing Event ID 2 Session "" failed to start with the following error: 0xC000000D - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing [ Guid] {B675EC37-BDB6-4648-BC92-F3FDC74D3CA2} EventID atikmdag error event 2 Version 0 Level 2 Task 2 Opcode 12 Keywords 0x8000000000000010 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2014-02-09T14:13:38.335971600Z EventRecordID 10172 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 1776 [ ThreadID] 1480 Channel Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing/Admin Computer Gaming-PC - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData SessionName FileName ErrorCode 3221225485 LoggingMode 276824069 This error occurs every 5 minutes in event viewer and I cannot figure out what is causing it.
