For simplicity I intend to install BGInfo on each machine and have it update each time a user logs in. From what I can see, when BGInfo creates a configuration file, the file contains variables which are local to each account - and therefore the configuration file will only work on the user account that bginfo windows 7 created it. Has anyone any idea as to how make these configuration files 'generic' so that BGInfo will work for all accounts when they log in? At present I have the BGInfor application and a BGInfo configuration file saved on the C drive and I have written a batch file which is stored in the 'All Users/Start Menu/Startup' directory (which executes every time any user on the computer logs in), however this only works for the account which created the configuration file. windows-7 share|improve this question edited Nov 25 '12 at 2:44 John Gardeniers 23.5k83997 asked Nov 24 '12 at 16:37 slickboy 59128 Some reason you can't execute via login script? –SpacemanSpiff Nov 24 '12 at 17:23 Thanks for your response @SpacemanSpiff - I've actually figured out how to do it. I don't have a test system handy two write this at the moment though. How did you end up solving it? –Nathan V Nov 29 '12 at 3:58 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote accepted Yes, this can be done. Just don't use a b

Edit: DO NOT GIVE FULL PERMISSIONS TO WINDOWS FOLDER! *Thanks Synack* James. Last edited by EduTech; 20th August 2009 at 02:36 PM.
